@delight: lol! I do the same thing.

Hush little baby, you are my sunshine, twinkle twinkle little star, and stuff that's on the radio.

    Swing low, sweet chariot
    Will the circle be unbroken
    I'll fly away
Down to the river to pray

Didn't leave nobody but the baby - Gillian Welch from O brother where art thou.
Sweet Tooth by Dave Rawlings Machine.

and You are my sunshine on a never ending loop.

The songs that DS seems to like best are "Moon River," "Que Sera Sera," and an old classic in my family we call "Let the Rest of the World Go By" (not sure if that's the real name). Also some Gospel like @Fronkinzankinsbride: mentioned.

In a real baby meltdown, DH has great success pulling down the guitar or ukelele and playing some Disney "When you wish upon a star," etc. or old blues/Appalachian music. Seems LO's favorite is "Railroad Blues" by Sam McGee.

I haven't even thought to try the baby classics!

@LovelyPlum: I love that Mary Poppins song! Have tried it as a lullaby but turns out the only lyrics I know are the title.
    I should look it up.

I sing them a lot of Beatles and Elton John. When they first came home I thought I had to sing baby songs, but I didn't know any. So I ended up singing Christmas songs. They got a lot of midnight Jingle Bells the first two weeks.

@anandam: I sing my LOs Moon River every morning! It was the song my bridesmaids walked down the aisle to so it's really special to me!

@Fronkinzankinsbride: I sing that same Nobody But the Baby song too!

    Also:
    Puff the Magic Dragon
    My Favorite Things
    Down in the Valley
    Somewhere over the Rainbow
    You are my Sunshine
    The Wheels on the Bus

Those are the only ones I know all the words to!
