I think it is interesting but I don't think it will change the end results.

They are going to do a hand recount here in Michigan and considering the very tiny margin in a state that is traditionally very much a Democrat leaning state I think it's very reasonable. This has certainly been the craziest election I've ever witnessed.

I would much rather know the truth so if there is any doubt at all I am supportive of the recount.

@psw27: I agree, I have no question that the ultimate result of the election will remain the same.
I am very interested in whether there was some sort of tampering with the results. I am curious what, if anything, will happen if they do find major discrepancies.

I've read that most PA voting machines are electronic with no paper trail. How are they planning to do a recount there?

@Mama Bird: Everywhere I've ever voted in PA has used paper ballots. That's only 4 places out of thousands I'm sure but it's not unusual in my part of the state. Clinton won my county anyway.
I was surprised she didn't win the state but my husband wasn't. We were both disappointed, I felt a little ashamed to be honest.

@Mama Bird: I didn't realize that even existed. Doesn't seem like a good idea when results could be questioned.

@MOMTOLITTLEB: I was not surprised he won either. Even in super blue MA there were significantly more Trump signs than Clinton. I assumed his support was much stronger everywhere else and it was surprisingly strong here.

@skipra: Even so, every county in MA went to Clinton.
I'm in favor of the recount. I work in internet security and so much is insecure and can get exploited. We all deserve to be sure of the results, no matter the outcome.

@ShootingStar: Yes, exactly. We are as blue as you can get yet there was a good amount of support for Trump but that is beside the point!
I do find it funny that when Trump was calling the election rigged everyone was saying that it was nearly impossible to hack to election but now are saying otherwise.

@skipra: In hindsight it seems relatively easy to hack the election. Given the electoral system, winning hinges on a few key states. And specific counties in those states.

I detest Trump but I'm not in favor of a recount that Clinton supports. Trump followers thrive in that hateful, antiestablishment environment. If Clinton gets "put in" it will generate a ton of fake news, anger, etc. I would rather see trumpers shoot themselves in the foot and crush them in two years. Otherwise the alt right and other fringe groups will just use this as fodder for the conspiracy machine.

@MOMTOLITTLEB: That is funny... I have voted in four places in PA and all were electronic. Three of them were in the same county, though.

I am supportive of a recount, it's Stein's right. I am not supportive of going back and changing the results of the election at this point barring. HRC conceded. There were many hard lessons learned by the Dems this election and the recount results may just be another one.

I'm supportive of a recount. I'm supportive of just about anything (grasping at straws, of course) that prevents a Trump presidency.

I don't mind the recount, but I think it's unnecessary. I think it would be REALLY BAD for our democracy if the outcome of the recount is at all different from the results we already have. People already distrust our election process and think voter fraud is a rampant issue despite no evidence. If there is proof that voter fraud took place or that our election actually was hacked or rigged, they will be no trusting future elections. It would be HORRIBLE for our country if this happens.
So while I DESPISE Trump and think he will be the worst President we have ever had and that it will take our countries DECADES to recover from the damage he will do, I think proof of voter fraud/election rigging would be worse. So I hope nothing comes of this recount.
