@loki: I love Willa! It was a friend of a friend's baby's name, though, so we didn't feel comfortable using it. Plus, my MIL hated it (not that that matters!).

@CatchAFallingStar: my mom doesn't really love it, i haven't shared it with my MIL because i imagine she'd feel the same. my aunt's husband had an aunt willa... and for some reason that ruins it for my mom. buuut i dont' really care what she thinks haha. also my parents have these GORGEOUS quilts this aunt willa made and i would love to use one in the baby's room, even if we don't name her willa!

@loki: My daughter's name is Willa. Obviously, I am partial. I LOVE IT!
And, although it may be popular in "mommy world" (parenting websites, naming websites), in the grand scheme of things, it's not popular. When I chose the name for my daughter in 2012, it was number 900 and something on the SSA website. People often remark on how unique her name is, or say something like "wow, that's beautiful, I have never heard that name before."
So.... my vote is definitely for Willa.

what does your Willa look like? I'm blond/blue eyed and my husband is half japanese so it's a toss up what our little one will look like! but i can totally picture Willa on every complexion, etc. which I think makes me love it even more!

@loki: My MIL doesn't like the name we chose, but WHO CARES. haha... I love it enough that I don't care what anyone else thinks.

my mom named me AFTER HERSELF so she can't really talk about names.

i am loving all the Willa love. I think I can get DH on board. We will probably still go in with our top three (Willa, Rose, Gemma) and commit once we see her... I just find it so hard not to obsess!
