How do you pronounce it?
I think "Will-uh"
I was watching Games of Throne and heard "Why-lah"
Thanks. Just curious.

I think like you, Will-uh. William is a family name for me, so I think along those lines.

I don't have a LO with that name but I would pronounce it like you too. And I love that name!

@FutureMrsMcK: same! I just said it over and over to be sure!

Will-uh. I really like it! But around here they pronounce W's like V's.

@Crumbs: Are you in Europe?! We have friends from the Netherlands and Willem is pronounced Villem and Julie is pronounced Joo-lie (that one was hard to type, LOL! - the J isn't the usual J sound)

Will-ah. I like the name, but as my Dad's name is William, he'd probably think she's named after him!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: do you mean in terms of preference? None, I love both
I think though that because I have a British accent, I would probably make a different sound with the 'a' anyway.... For example my daughters name starts with an A and over here (Canada) many people pronounce that 'air' which isn't how her dad and I say it, but even if I wrote it phonetically on here it would be hard to describe because of accent differences, if that makes sense? I've stopped correcting people now, A has her name said in many different ways, lol.

@travelgirl1: no I mean in terms of pronunciation!!! Doesn't "ah" sound like "uh?"
W is my LOs name, that's why I'm curious!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Ahhhh, no there is quite a difference with my accent... I thought it the A at the end sounded like the A in apple... To me the 'uh' sound is like the U in umbrella.... Now I'm totally curious, how do you pronounce your daughter's name?

@travelgirl1: you say it Ahh-riela right? As opposed to AIR-iela.
I think I just said her name like fifteen times.

Ugh, I LOVE this name. Sadly, if we had a girl, it wouldn't work with our last name. Agree with everyone that it's pronounced Will-ah/Will-uh.

@oliviaoblivia: ha ha, yeah, I'm pretty sure you say it right... I've never noticed if you haven't anyway
