I just asked Charlie what mommy and daddy do for work and he said "type on the computer."
What do your kids think you do?

Feed ponies. I run a non-profit that runs an old-fashioned carved carousel, so that's what I've always told him when I go to work.
He thinks daddy hammers things (not even close...)

We've told him we go to meetings and talk to people. He also knows it involves a computer.
He's visited our office before, he likes to point it out when we drive by on the highway.

DS knows the name of the company and visits me there a lot... I just asked him what I do and he said "you get yucky in the shop and go up to the office and work on paper and with baseball cards". I work for an auction company and set up auctions and run the office.
He said that DH "he goes to the shop and he rides in the truck and rides skidloader"... DH works on servicing trucks and works at different farms .

Not my kid, but I have a little brother who is significantly younger than me. He told his preschool teacher that his sister is an alligator (I'm a trial attorney, so he meant "litigator").

Write emails, which is pretty accurate... sometimes it feels like that's what I do all day!

My son knows because I've explained it to him. I actually asked him yesterday and he thought about and then said "translator"!

"Just teach".
@mrs.bee Are you doing that FB thing where you ask your kid a series of questions? I did that with LO and it was so fun to hear her thoughts. Then I turned it around and asked her Daddy questions for Father's Day.

I take care of them and dad works on the computer in the office. And when dad plays Warcraft I laugh at him and tell him to get back to work. (Pretty much accurate)

I asked L this last night! He's 2.5.
He said I'm an important doctor (not even close) and daddy is a delivery tiger.

@dagret: What I would give to know what a deliver tiger does. haha
I will have to ask L tonight. I tell him mommy and daddy have to go to work now so he has to go to daycare. He usually says "No. L go to work too".

No kids here yet, but when I was little I would tell people that my dad made bombs..... which was kind of true, and my dad encouraged this line of thinking. In actuality, my dad makes explosive mixes of chemicals and powders, used to detonate unsafe buildings and launch spacecraft into space, among other things.

LO knows that daddy fixes cars (He is a mechanic and owns a shop) and Mommy plays with old people (I am a nursing home social worker).
She is spot on with both!

LO says daddy works in the office and drives around in the van - yesterday he went to a job about 2 hours away and she said he "gone to the country and never coming back forever and ever".
She thinks I work on a computer, but when I told her I work with daddy in the office it blew her mind.
