We talk about height but I guess I don't see it as bragging. @autumnlove: what do they say so I can make sure I'm not bragging on her height?
Most our friends/family don't brag on their kids too much.

@MrsH: Check out my LO's long legs....she is going to be a supermodel! Or did your LO have their well appointment yet? My LO is off the charts on height...your LO seems a little shorter than average 2 yr olds.

Well in DH's family there are 4 little girls, then our 2 boys. No other little boys. So we are constantly hearing how its ok that boys do everything slower and brag brag brag about the girls walking and potty training and blah blah. (which btw, our boys hit milestones at the same time the girls did, if not before them) I'm not sure why they all believe all boys are slower than girls but it drives me insane.

Mostly intelligence or sleep related, though I have a friend constantly ends twitter posts with #10monthsnoformula or however many months it's been and I just wonder how that's relevant to the post? It kinda annoys me.

One of DH's cousins talks about how her daughter has a huge vocabulary at her age. I work in the early childhood field and what she describes sounds normal...I just nod and smile. Then vent to DH later

Only one person I know does this and she's always talking about how advanced, intelligent, and special her son is. Seriously, facebook, instagram, her blog- always ravvvvving. And she compares him to other kids which really gets me going. I think it bothers me more because when I've been around him, he's extremely poorly behaved.
I hope I don't brag about E! I think I share the good and the bad. I think stuff like height isn't taken as bragging unless it's brought up how @autumnlove: described. For us, her height is more due to her parents- we're both super tall!
I sometimes felt people get a little rude at me when LO started sleeping LONG stretchs in her first two months. But I shared it more like "YES! She did this! I got sleep!" and not saying she was advanced, or better, or anything. Now that her sleep SUCKS, I share that too. I think there's a difference between sharing and bragging.

@autumnlove: Ha don't kill me, I brag a bit! No one cared when I bragged about the cats but they care now. "Oh Zuma loves bath time", "She knows how to spit in my face when I kiss her", "She smiles when I tell her about the cats". Just dumb stuff like that!

@kjpugs: just the way my friend's DH does it annoys me...he texted me after every well appt the first 18 months! Lol! I guess he wanted to compare stats because our girls were born around the same time.
Your e definitely has long legs!

@autumnlove: Why thank you And you may be onto something... I think maybe it turns into bragging when you drag someone else's kid into it. Like your friend saying something about their kid = ok. Talking about their kid's stats and comparing to yours? Not ok.

I don't think of it as bragging rather it's sharing. Just happens to all be positive.

Surprisingly, my mommy friends are great and just bring up stuff for a good chat. I do get an earful at family get togethers at my inlaw's, DD is grandchild #14 and counting so she gets compared a lot to the other grandkids. I just change the subject mostly. It gets pretty annoying.
