I'm in CA and when it's 80 here we are definitely in shorts and a t-shirt!

Last week it was in the mid 70's and I still sent LO to school in shorts and a t-shirt, with a sweatshirt for morning outdoor time.

@twodoghouse: I am going to be in the same boat next month and had no idea what they would wear! I do this every year, forget what it's like to be that warm.

My kids wear shorts and tank tops when it's 80 outside (that's what they wore earlier this week... we had a heat wave in SoCal). A light cardigan or jacket is great for mornings and evenings, and light pants (like leggings) are OK, too.

We are in north Texas and i don't have shorts out yet. I'd go with short sleeves, light jackets. Leggings under a dress is what my girl wore today.

We're in Houston. We've been wearing shorts all week. Especially in the afternoon. I think your kids would be fine with short sleeves and long pants or summer clothes with a light jacket. If the sun is out 80 degrees is plenty warm

Last summer we did mostly shorts and Ts or dresses with no tights. Sometimes I would put thin pants/leggings on Fia but mostly only if I was feeling like I didn't want to fight the sunscreen battle. She basically never wore socks all summer. Although at this age with them maybe walking a lot more, socks might be a good idea to avoid blisters?

Tank top and shorts. Sundresses.

My girls would never wear long pants if it was in the 80s!

Pack in layers. Bring some pants and zip-up hoodies in case temps happen to drop.

In 80s I wouldn't do pants or leggings. Shorts and t shirt or dresses. I'd maybe pack a couple hoodies or cardigans for chillier nights. And a pair of jeans for each for chilly nights.

I agree with @regberadaisy: -- the change in itself will make you want to break out the shorts, etc. It's supposed to be 70 this weekend and I'm already planning on him wearing shorts. I also plan to temper that excitement with light sweaters that can go over outfits, etc.
