On days where we don't leave the house (a.k.a. most days since she's only 3 weeks old), I just keep her in a cotton side-snap shirt, a diaper, and a swaddle. When we go for walks in the neighborhood, I'll put pants and socks on her.
I want so badly to dress her up in some cute things but I just don't see the point when we're staying in the house all the time and she spits up on everything.

Onesies and pants/shorts during the day. If someone was coming over I would dress her up a little more.
Sleepers were for night time.

I did onesies and pants during the day. Cute outfits if we were going somewhere or had company. Sleepers for bedtime. I wanted to get her I used to getting dressed and having a routine.
A lot of people keep newborns in sleepers all the time. I can see the appeal, but we had so many cute clothes that I wanted her to use.

One piece sleepers. We were team green, so when I was in the hospital I placed a massive order of Ralph Lauren layette stuff.

First few weeks, long sleeve side snap shirts with hand mitts, and a diaper. Swaddled for naps or just an A&A blanket tucked around her in the RnP.
After that, it was onesies. I had one cute romper type onesie, for going out or meeting people, and a 5 pack of cute bright colored basic onesies, that fit for the first month or two, plus a bunch of plain hand me downs, and that was plenty.
After the first month or so she started fitting into 0-3 stuff and I would put something cute on if we went out, but she still pretty much wore onesies at home. I don't think she wore pants for the first few months. We aren't fancy.
Oh and footed sleepers.

I used to dress him in all in one suits (I think this is what you guys call sleepers) and long sleeve vest underneath - it was winter. Now I dress him all in separates (7mo) and I wish I had done sooner - if one part of the outfit gets dirty it's much easier just to change that rather than whole outfit! My LO hates and has always hated having his arms put in and out of stuff.

@night cheese: That's what we dressed LO in during his first month or so. The side snap shirts were great in those early days. I didn't put a lot of effort into his clothing choices early on because they got dirty so quickly.

Sleepers exclusively until 3 weeks then I mixed in outfits. Lots of one piece outfits though that looked like a sleeper but a bit less jammie like.

Mostly sleepers. Once it got warm I had them in onesies. Neither fit into NB pants for a while, so they were mostly pantsless. Once Alice fit into her newborn fancy "outfits" (about a month old) I'd dress her up if someone was coming over or for pictures. Blake is so long and skinny that a lot of his outfits just never worked so even now he's always in onesies and occasionally in NB pants.

First couple weeks (3 or 4?) we kept her in a onesie and swaddle all the time. Then just a onesie unless it was cold, then a sleeper. I don't see the point of pants.

I put him in sleepers at night and outfits during the day. No swaddle but maybe loosely wrapped with a blanket the first month or two. To me an outfit is a onesie with a bottom or a romper. Cuter outfits were for going out. Yes, he spit up on everything but I don't mind changing him.

Onesies, it's been 90 degrees here so I can't use any of the cute newborn clothes that I have from LO 1 who was a fall baby. So disappointing, because LO 2 is starting to outgrow the newborn stuff now. At night I put her in a soft kimono style bamboo gown.

My LO was a winter baby so the first three months we kept her in one piece sleepers. She had bedtime sleepers and sleep gowns and the lighter weight cotton ones were for daytime wear so she still had a wake up routine with outfit change. It was much easier dealing with sleepers for laundry in those early months rather than having more separates and tiny socks. Baby #2 is also going to be a winter baby so I'm planning the same bc I will have even less time to deal with laundry and folding and putting away clothes - so I'm stocking up on sleepers!

@sandy: Where did you get your sleepers? This is my game plan for #2. C was a summer baby so we did a lot of onesies and not as many sleepers (even for sleeping).

@MamaG: I usually get them on sale from Carters for daytime sleepers. Right now they're marked down to $8 plus 25% off but I had a coupon for 30% off. I'd stock up now bc I remember laying about $25 a sleeper last winter. And it's free shipping. For bedtime sleepers and sleep gowns I love Baby Gap - nice and thick and so soft.

mostly sleepers! I found it the easiest (no waistband to irritate their new belly buttons, no need to pull anything over their heads) also, our sleepers were super cute

My newborn was born in early April so I used sleepers for the first few weeks and once it warmed up I have had her in those sunsuits/rompers and cotton dresses most of the time. They were too cute not to use and operate the same as a onesie (well the sunsuits are basically dressed-up onesies) as far as easy to use.

DD was born in February so she lived in fleece sleep n plays until it got warm. I had a few newborn outfits that were mostly just long sleeved onesie and fleece pants, too but sleepers were what she wore the majority of the time even when we went out. I didn't really start dressing her more until she wa spending more time awake and playing - probably around 3 months.

rompers and onesie/pants. When I was in the hospital for my gall bladder, and DH and my mom tag teamed M, he was in sleepers most of the time.

he was a newborn in the winter and pretty much lived in sleepers, with zippers. I made exceptions when we were going out, but not very often
