It felt like a stabbing, burning sensation to the left or right side near the inside of my hip.
If you look at some of the pics on this site, you can get an idea of where the round ligament is- which is where I felt the pain.

I have read that for most women, it feels like stabbing/pulling/burning...uncomfortable but bearable.
But if you're extremely unlucky like me, the pain will be very extreme and it will be worse than labor pains! (True story. Severe round ligament pains warranted a trip to a ER and even a few doses of morphine because I was shaking and puking so much from the pain!)

For me, it's like a stabbing/cramping kind of pain. It has been actually painful a few times, but mostly just really uncomfortable.
I had a friend who had severe RLP in early pregnancy. She had to go to the emergency room too.

Oh wow, emergency room!?
I have had some sharp pains when standing up or getting out of the car or shifting my position. It's nothing terrible, so I'm guessing it's just mild RLP. I read it can start towards the beginning of the 2nd tri but thought 12 weeks was a little early.

For me I got it around 16 weeks, maybe some as early as 14 weeks and it felt like pulling and a bit of tinging pain on the sides of my stomach. It went from below my rips to my pelvis on the side of my abdomen

Mine is a stabby/pulling pain. I'm pretty sure its completely normal to get it at 12 weeks!

My RLP were a burning pulling sensation in on the bottom of my abdomen and in my crotch. I guess my pain has been moderate. I have had to brace myself in the doorway because it was so intense.
Mine started at the end of the first trimester, beginning of the second from coughing or sneezing. Now, at 22 weeks, it is triggered by shifting positions too quickly or sneezing or coughing. lol

I think I am starting to feel this at 15 weeks, usually when I sneeze/gag or get up too quickly, It is pretty mild though.

I got sharp pains like others have described probably from 6 weeks and on, although it comes and goes.... could that still be RLP?

I'm bumping this thread. I have had some sharp pinches in line with my hip bone (ie ovaryish area) on either side today - wondering if this is RLP? I'm 16 weeks.

Mine felt like my ovary was being ripped. Or like cramping in my ovaries.
