We just have a normal one that is on our front porch. I enjoy being able to open the door and get my mail right away, but I feel bad that the postal workers have to walk to deliver the mail in my neighborhood.

@artbee: I've never seen a piggy mailbox. I have seen dolphins and manatees though.
Ours is a boring one that's attached to the house. I'm like @yin and feel bad for the mail person having to walk door to door in all weather. I would want a route where you drive if I was a mail person!

We bought the house --engaged and soooo in love. So we designed it with our names on it, complete with our painted handprints, like in UP. It also has a flower pot next to it but we keep a cactus in it since we don't want to maintain it.

Ours is ugly gray metal... It gets brutally beaten so it can't be too nice. Our neighbor hit it and the plows tend to knock it in the winter. Country livin Hahah!

Plain black on a wooden post. DH spray painted the post black when we replaced the box. We just bought a cheap one since we had other priorities after first buying the house. The old one was leaking so we had to get it replaced. Down the line we will probably update to something nicer. But for now, I would rather spend the money else where.

Our is super redneck, but it makes people laugh. Yup, that's a shotgun shell mailbox. It used to be a redfish, but that one got ran over. This one's been hit, too, but it's really tough and made it through.

Ours is white. I had a custom vinyl prit made with our last name & house number, and attached it to our mailbox.
When we moved in, the mailbox was a cow. It was the second thing we replaced!

Every house in our neighborhood has the same mailbox with our subdivision name, street name, and address. They are pretty durable, but normal/boring looking. It was one less think I had to figure out!

Ours is the fugly green molded plastic one. Not high on our list to replace but I wish we could!!
