hmm high waisted skorts. that doesn't do it for me. i personally don't like studs and stuff like that either, but i think it can look nice on someone else!
i love leggings and i don't mind the hi-lo thing at all!

@littlebug: I've seen the "overalls comeback" thing, too, and had the same thought! I just can't get past the Osh Kosh ones I had when I was little, haha. I also don't like the super short, Miley-Cyrus-type shorts. Even if your legs look great, I don't need to see that much of them!
@allison: so funny, I have never seen a shirt like that! But I'm not loving it...

High/low hems and monograms! They even make monogram nail stickers. Ugh

neon sneakers
Hi-low shirts
leggings as pants
I like overalls though and rompers I think they can be sexy

Platform sneakers, extreme hi-lo tops/ dresses, high-waisted jeans.

I would totally rock some shorts overalls, if they wouldn't make me look 12.

@allison: I HATE those shirts! Definitely a regional thing. Everyone from back home has one, and they're all over my Facebook feed. Just stop people! You're killing the class out of a monogram!

hmm...pre-pregs, I liked a lot of the things listed here. I like hi-low if it's done correctly (some are bad, some are good...it mainly depends on the fit of the individual piece) and I own at least two rompers.
But I've never been into leggings as pants (with a shirt shorter than say, mid-thigh), so I guess I agree on that one. Sadly, at my recent newborn care class, I was the only preggo woman NOT wearing leggings as pants with a too-short-shirt. It just looked....super unbalanced. HUGE on top, teensy tiny on the bottom. It's obviously summer, so no one was wearing boots to balance the bottom half out. So it was just...big boobs, preggo belly, widening hips/butt....and teensy tiny calves and feet. I'm not a fan.

I really don't like the mullet dresses. I guess they're called hi-lo. And I will never get behind the leggings/tights worn as pants. They just aren't.

@allison: Haha I love a good monogram, but that is bad. I've never seen one before though.
@littlebug: Haha, um no agreed!

I pretty much hate the entire high/low trend. Also, tights are NOT pants unless you have a longer shirt. I hate seeing ladies walking around in leggings with too short shirts.

@highwire: Haha aww! I love chevron! I was kinda into it before it became a thing too. I was excited when I started seeing more of it.
clementine / 825 posts
@Mrs. Pen: Ohhh! Thank you! I didn't realize those had a name but I'm not into them either.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@highwire: I cannot stand chevron either! On others I think it can look cute. And if it's done well, I like it in home furnishings and decor. But it's so crazy overdone, and I'll never wear anything with chevron.
Then again, I said that about animal prints and I love trying on leopard shoes. Still haven't pulled the trigger on any yet...

OVERALLS! Flashbacks to really bad fashion choices in high school.
I don't like the high-lo either...but it's no where as bad as overalls.

HATE the high-low trend. I just don't see how it's flattering or fashionable and on pregnant ladies I feel like it can look kind of like "this was normal but my belly is so big it makes it look high-low." And HATEEE rompers. I think they look decent if you're a size zero but, especially if it's a tube top version, it better be 100 degrees because you're basically saying you wish you could be naked. There are exceptions to every rule though, I've seen some "wins" with both of these, but just usually I'd say AVOID.
I refuse to allow overalls to come back. REFUSE.

@highwire: I wanted to add chevron, but didn't want to be stoned for it! I hate it!
apricot / 338 posts
the hi-low stuff maybe I will get one just to see how it feels when I wear it.. I will probably cut around the backside after Im done @Weagle: ya the chevron its just too much to wear I can see it in pillows and home decor
pomelo / 5628 posts
I have 1 hi low dress and I really like it. And -gasp- I think it's chevron! (But its pink/purple so not super high contrast). And I will be really sad if skinny jeans ever leave. But I agree they just don't work for all body types.
I don't understand the Oxford-type shows that are in right now. All my HS students were wearing them. And high waisted anything looks good on like 1% of the population.

Hi-LO, leggings as pants that are shimmery (argh)!, neon, high waisted denim. But I do like rompers! They're ultra comfy to wear around the house.

@Weagle: ditto.
Ombre hair
That hi-low thing is weird
pomegranate / 3863 posts
Skinny jeans....they don't work on my stumpy legs and I'm jealous of anyone who can pull them off! Also, high waisted anything. And shirts with cut outs at the shoulder.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs Green Grass: I love skinny jeans too. They make me look skinnier than wearing trouser or bootcut jeans. I don't think EVERY style has to look good on everyone to stay in trend. Bikinis don't look good on everyone, but they won't go out of fashion lol. Same with certain styles dresses, etc... I just feel it's a silly reason to not like a certain trend!
I think some trends are amazing, even if I can't wear them.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Mrs. Pen: ditto on liking the trends I can't wear. I actually don't mind the midriff baring shirts, especially with something high waisted on the bottom. I just look at people wearing them and think, "damn I wish I had the abs to pull that off!"
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@MrsSCB: yeah. I can't wear dresses with a defined waist because my waist is high and not very small so it just doesn't look right. that doesn't mean that I hate that style lol - I'm jealous I'm limited to only certain styles!
I agree about abs. I think it's easier to say we hate a style because we realize only skinny people can wear it
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Mrs. Pen: haha that is true. I've actually been trying to exercise more and I recently told DH that my goal is to be able to wear a top that shows (a small sliver of) my midriff and feel good about it. Sort of a weird goal but hey, whatever works!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@MrsSCB: I've thought about this! I bought a high waisted swim bottom. I'll likely never wear a bikin because of how many stretch marks I have, but I felt daring wearing a bottom that went to my natural waist haha. But I still want to lose some weight to look better in it... I've thought that if I ever get abs, I might not be so self conscious about my stretchies!
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Mrs. Pen: ahhh I love those high-waisted bottoms -- so cute and retro! And confidence is totally key when wearing bathing suits. My upcoming beach trip is my main motivation for turning on that evil Jillian these days, lol.
cherry / 157 posts
I didn't like the hi-low too much, but saw a maternity dress that was hi-low and kinda cute and inexpensive, so I bought it anyway
I realized why these "mullet" dresses are awesome: you don't trip on them! You don't need to lift them up when going up stairs or getting into a car!
kiwi / 726 posts
@mrs. 64: I totally agree. I like to call them adult onesies. I just don't get them.
persimmon / 1035 posts
i am not a fan of shirts that are purposely too big so they fall off your shoulder and you see what bra you are wearing.
i also don't like shorts that don't cover your butt properly. i see them on teenage girls all.the.time. Then i hypothetically disallow my hypothetical teen daughter from ever stepping out of the house with her bum hanging out.
I also went shopping recently and saw multiple stores carrying neon colored jeans? um, no thanks, i am not going out with fluorescent yellow legs.
nectarine / 2600 posts
@allison: I've never seen that! Although it reminds me of some of the stuff we'd wear in college, in a sorority.
