@Smurfette: agree, I wouldn't say it was exactly unexpected but it's definitely hard.

I'd also say the physical aspect. When she was little, I thought she was so heavy after holding her for awhile...well, now that she's a 25-lb toddler and wants to be UP! UP PEEASE! all. the. damn. time, my body is just shot. I feel awful most of the time, physically. Plus, she keeps me on my feet most of the time, running around after her, and there's all the usual house stuff to deal with on top of that, so I never really have a chance to let my poor body rest.
