I already posted this on the July 2014 mama's thread, but one of my DH's relatives saw a recent pic of me at 20 weeks pregnant and had this to say:

"Whoo -- that sure is a girl -- look how big she is already!!!"

I cried a little inside. So not okay to ever say anything like that to a pregnant, hormonal woman!

My SIL tells me to hurry up and have one b/c she's gonna go for a second one soon and will tie up her mom's time and she won't be able to babysit for us.

I have a mom too! And I can't hurry!!

@mrsjyw: This pisses me off. 30 isn't old at ALL. My cousin, 24, was like you better not wait to long, you are getting old. Um, I am 35, not old. She is a nurse, she should know that this day and you don't have to worry about it as much.

My aunt and grandmother have been telling my mom that I need to "relax, get drunk and have wild sex" and I will get pregnant. I'm so glad that haven't said that to my face.

I was just told by DH cousin that "with the second you just get really huge really soon" I didn't really think I was that big

DH asked me this morning if I could pick up his dry cleaning. Keep in mind, he did not pick it up Saturday like he was supposed to because he was hungover and in bed all day from playing poker friday night. Oh and then he worked all day Sunday. So, I was on babysitting duty 24/7 plus I had work to do for my job. But, yes, I can pick it up.

@sandy: an older woman at Starbucks told me she knew I was having a girl because my hips were so big.

I was so angry for her being so bold but also being right.

Bitch.

@sandy: annoying, I'm sorry. I hate when people give TTC advice and I don't ask for it.

@KT326: @coopsmama: I had a coworker who told me she could tell I was pregnant because my "hips were spreading." I was 5 WEEKS. Awesome.

@littlek: Ugh, I've heard similar complaints recently from newlyweds and how their husbands don't do what's asked of them right away. I had to laugh and say that "it's marriage and totally normal." DH didn't start the dishwasher last night before bed. I started it this morning. I'm learning not to care too much when he doesn't do things. Maybe I'm relearning expectations with him.

I got crap from DH when I was hungover from a party on Saturday. It's another case of not doing that again for some time. I took a nap when LO slept. I was tired and still got crap about it.

@cascademom: I'm not annoyed at him for not doing things I'm more annoyed he pretty much commanded me to pick up his dry cleaning. It was not really a question the way he asked it.

My great aunt told me that if I really cared about my daughters health, I would only buy her 100% organic food from the most expensive store in the area, regardless of cost.

I told her she was welcome to cover the additional cost out of her own damn pocket.

(Note: I feed my child the BEST that I can possibly afford, and very healthfully and well balanced.)

This weekend we had a mom's night out, and we ended up running into some guys we knew from college. One of the guys (who was always a jerk) said "I'm glad you aren't skinny anymore, you looked gross." Ummm....so I'm fat now...thanks A**hole!

It's just been the "you're next!" BS for like the last year because every. single. person. I am friends with here is either pregnant, has a newborn or is TTC. Yeah... no.

Dh and I took a childbirth class this weekend and saw his parents right after, so his mom was asking us about it...She was shocked when we were talking about how long labor can last, and she said "all you have to do is visualize how you want your birth. With dh, I went into labor around 11pm and said to myself 'this is happening now,' and then gave birth the next morning! It's all mental!" UMM YEA, REALLY?? All the women who have long labors just aren't thinking about it hard enough? Give me a break! Also, I'm SURE she remembers everything perfectly about giving birth 32 years ago...The worst thing is she repeated that nonsense the next day.

@nana87: bahahaha wow. Yeah, I'm sure that during my 18hr labor I just wasn't concentrating hard enough. That's hysterical.

@septca: baby hasn't even been born yet and I'm already feeling like there are things we just shouldn't even bother telling mil!

@Bookish: @wonderstruck: haha, seriously! she's nutso if she thinks her one experience (sil was a planned c-section so that's different), which she probably doesn't remember, has anything to do with the way all labors play out.

In the same conversation, we also were saying how the birth center in our hospital won't admit me until I'm at least 5 or 6 cm dilated, and she was like "I don't care what they say, go to the hospital as soon as your water breaks." No! They'll just send us home! I'd rather labor at home where I'm comfy than going back and forth between the hospital multiple times. Crazy lady...
