Local libraries usually have events such as book discussions.

Community centers and schools have salsa or ball room dance lessons for cheap. Typically these draw an older crowd.

Visit a restaurant or diner and pick a counter seat next to a gent. One of those breakfast-lunch only places may be a great choice.

Shop for groceries on Friday or Saturday night.

Head to a bar during a big sporting event. Super Bowl is coming up.

Stroll the aisles of Home Depot. If she doesn't have any projects she can always pick up cleaning supplies or plants.

Volunteer at a theatre or jazz festival. Lots of the volunteers and patrons of the arts are older.

These ideas will put her in the vincinity of men, but she may have to be the one to start the convo. Also unless someone repulses her she should accept all dates, who knows she may meet someone better while she's out.
