Right now we have nothing. I think I want to take lots of old family photos to put up all over the big wall. Like grandparent's when they were younger, great grandparents, etc. And I'll mix some new pics of us in there. I like the idea of getting a tree decal and making it like a family tree... but I haven't found one I loved yet.

Nothing. We did finall put up some wedding photos in our hallway this past week. We've been married 3.5 years, so it took us a while, oops! Lol

We just have a large wedding picture flanked by a 11x14 wedding photo and 11x14 engagement photo on one wall and an art print of abstract landscape on another. We also have a mirror, clock and key holder up that are decorative and useful.
I love your idea of everyone through the ages, stuff like that always makes for great conversation pieces with guests too.

Things that the DH put up. Picture frames and such. He's an artist so he likes hanging things up. He likes to move them around every couple months. I honestly don't notice when he does.

1 wedding picture in the space between two windows, but other than that, nothing. DH's supposed to put up a large mirror on top of the couch but I'm still waiting on it -_-

Nothing. We're planning to paint in there so we've held off on decorating that room.

on one wall we have a big old window hanging, On the other wall there is nothing but my painted frames with pictures are laying out on the floor ready for DH to hang up today! The one other wall in our living room has nothing on it but will soon be a long shelf with door knobs beneath to hang coats on... (another weekends DIY project!)

A bunch of empty picture frames! DH put up the frames so we knew how many pictures we needed and I was supposed to pick out the pictures - oops! Guess I should start on that

Various 8x10 vacation photos on most walls, and a big wedding photo over the fireplace.

We don't have anything either. Our walls are painted wood paneling, not the tongue and groove kind but the solid wood with molding kind. So I think frames on the wall looks a little strange. I do have a mirror hanging over the mantle.

a charcoal drawing by my husband, two doodles by my husband, 2 paintings by me, 1 papyrus from egypt, and TONS of family photos and photos of us 2. tons of photos.

Nothing yet. We painted and got new furniture but we still need to finish off the room with art and new drapes.

Just things my husband has hung up, he doesn 't like the pictures I have so they currently reside behing the couch.
My plan for above the couch is a cluster of framed old postcards. I want to get Ikea frames, probably 20-25 and make a collage. My Mom collects and sells vintage and antique postcards from the late 1800's to the 50's (majority of them 1900's-20's) and some are just really fun!

A giant map of the world, from IKEA, with the places in the world we've visited together marked with flags. It's not the most original or artistic thing in the world, but it tells the story of our relationship and is a great conversation starter.
I like family photos, but I prefer those in memo albums where the location and people can be recorded. Plus I can never get a gallery wall to look balanced!

@artbee: I love the idea of a family tree!
We currently have some boring photos I bought because they were in nice frames. I need to find new pictures for those frames. We also have a frame with letters of our last name in it. That's the one special thing on our walls.

We have a large Francis Bacon print (The Papal Portraits of 1953) and a pop art (Andy Warhol style) print of Anderson Cooper. We have lots of windows and then several large almost floor to ceiling book cases in our living room, so not a ton of room for wall art.
@StbHisMrs: That’s really cool about your mom’s collection of postcards! I love old paper products myself, and have some really neat WW1 and WW2 postcards (sort of propaganda postcards), as well as some other vintage postcards framed and hung up in other rooms of our home.

We have wood panels in our living room so in the center panel, we hung our canvas wrapped wedding photo. On either side of the canvas wrap is a collage of wedding photos of me and our bridal party and the hubby and the bridal party.
