Pretty much our whole house is PB furniture, and I've definitely never had any particle board from Pottery Barn. It's always solid wood, and very good quality wood. One reason it's my go-to for furniture is because the quality of the wood far exceeds anything I can really find in a furniture store. It is sturdy and high quality, and I expect it to last for many years:) I think $400 for an entire set is a fantastic deal! Usually their dressers for kids alone are that price or more.

ETA: We have quite a few pieces and it's all really heavy wood...I find it really shocking that anyone ever had anything that wasn't! I've had such good experience with everything we have...I'm going to do an inventory here- but bottom line is it's always nice wood:)

I looked up two current PBK furniture styles and both list real wood as the material. Sounds like you found a great deal.
