Insulation for us, shortly thereafter is much needed tree maintenance that we can't do on our own. @Andrea: Are you having walls done too? That seems crazy expensive!

@Cole: It is in most areas of the house. Apparently we are severely lacking. Going to get another quote though. Just got one so far.
We also took down 3 trees this year.

A new washing machine. Ours is about to bite the dust. I'm surprised it's still going at the moment!
I'm also kind of dreading our next big ticket items for the baby. I'm excited to get his stuff ready and get that much closer to his arrival, but I'm not ready to drop the $$$

And I need new rear tires. We replaced the front 2 a couple of months ago, but need to get the other ones done before Thanksgiving.

quarterly rates (kinda like property taxes) are due end of this month. ugh! another 1k down the drain!!

@Sadieloo: what the what?! We had 16 taken down and brush cleared this summer for less than half of that!!
I don't want to pay for.. Anything?! We need a French drain, our front steps need to be replaced & we need a new mattress. And the new backyard needs landscaped.

Everything! We still have a bunch of baby stuff to buy, and not the fun stuff like clothes and strollers -- it's stuff like breastfeeding supplies and blinds for the nursery windows. The car insurance is due next month. Holiday decorations are fun but that still doesn't mean I feel like spending money on them. And now hubby has decided that he wants to get our garage project (next on our home improvement checklist, and includes new insulation and drywall, as well as a new overhead door and door into the house) done before the baby comes. Ugh.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I don't understand the cost either. The trees are quite large, approx 200 ft, and would require a crane and who knows what else. We also live in a suburb of NYC and everything seems to be more expensive. Needless to say, we need to shop around.

We get keys to our first home on Friday, so... everything. Maybe window treatments as the #1 item since we'll have to do that soon.
