with my situation now, i'm hoping to be done by 35, but accounting for life circumstances getting in the way, i'd say 37. i'm 30 now (had LO just before turning 29).

40 maybe? I hope to be done by 35 but who knows what's in the cards for us.

I hope we are done by 35 based on our current situation. But if I hadn't met my husband when I did & had LO when we did, I would say 39.

Before having LO I would have said 35. But I'm 33 in June, which is the same month we're going to start TTC #2. If we want a third, not sure we will make it under the 35 mark since I'm one of those women who needs a long recovery from the horror of the newborn stage
So based on that, I would say 38-40 is my cut-off.

ask me after i have one kiddo! i wanted to be done at 30, but that's in a week and we're still working one #1... probably 35-38

We're hoping to have our 2nd/last bio child before 30. I'm nearly 26 now, and we'll probably start trying for #2 when I'm 27/28. We're going to start saving up after #2, and adopt in our 30's.

30. We plan to start TTC right around my 26th B-day. We plan on being one and done but are open to adopting in the future.

I'd probably say 35, however if it took a long time to get pregnant I think I'd still carry on ttc after 40 as long as I was healthy. I don't truly think I'd want to give up on my baby plan if I'd been trying to have that baby for years, purely based on age.

I used to think 35 ... but now that I am 35, I'd say 40? I can't see having kids any later than that. By the time I'm 40 my firstborn will be 13 and I don't know that I could do teenagers and newborns/toddlers at the same time.

I'm going to say 35 as well. If we choose to have a third LO, I should be 32/33.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
That's a tough one, I'd say 37...
35 seems young and 40 to old for my preference
ETA: I'm 30 now and plan to be done at 33 with the third LO.

I used to say 35, but our first and only right now is 7 months old. I'm 33- will be 34. We are not sure about a second child since LO is only 7 mo. Maybe one and done or depends on my health. Wanted at least 2 years between. We just aren't sure.

Late 30s, I guess. I'd take a little one whenever it came, but I don't think I'd try much after 35-37, if then. My OB has an expectant mama now who is 51! No thank you!

35.
Our plan is to be done by then. (I'm 30 now with 1 LO)

I used to say 35. The plan was to have 2-3 kids at 31, 33, and (maybe) 35. Then infertility got in the way and I didn't have DD until almost 32... Trying to conceive #2 now, which would put me right about 34. If we decide we want a third, we'd want the same 2 year age gap and I wouldn't let my age (36/37) stand in the way.

We had LO #1 just after I turned 35. I'm 36 now and wanted to have LO #2 by 37, but it might be 38. We'll likely do IVF again with frozen embryos, so I actually joke that it doesn't matter how old I am since the embryos are from when I was a very young 34 years old.

I'm 30 and struggling trying to conceive our 1st. I want 2-3 children, so maybe 36. Although, when we get pregnant and actually see how it feels, I might be more willing to push it to 40.

@GreenThumb: Oh, that's a good point. We hopefully will have embryos from our upcoming IVF cycle.

The latest I would consider? I guess early 40s. I would prefer to have one more in the next couple of years though and be done. I will be 37 this fall.

I don't want any after like...32 to be honest. That is because I haven't worked much in my field and I am spending my 20s raising kids so, I'd like to be done eventually and focus on my career.

34 - I'll be almost 29 when our first LO gets here. We only want two max, so if we haven't gone for it by 34 the gap will be bigger than I want, I'll be one and done.
pomelo / 5524 posts
I think I'm going to call it at 37. I'm 33 now, and we'd like 1 more. If something doesn't happen in our favor in the next 5 years, I'm going to call it quits. I have one beautiful little guy, and if that's all that was meant for us, then we'll be one and done.

37/38. I'm 33 now and pregnant with #2 (will be almost 34 then). Ideally we will be done with 2, but if we try for a third I would be a least 35 when we started trying.

Well into my 40's. I am 38 right now and just had LO #1 (3 mos). My DH want 3 kids and I only want 2 kids (am considering 3). Considering the fact that it took us 2 years ttc #1, who knows when and/or how long #2 would be for us ttc. So if it is a hard and fast rule of 2 years between kids and if we go for 3 kids, then I'm looking at 42 yrs old.

Our first is a month old, and I am one month shy of 37. My husband thinks he wants to be one and done. I may push for a second but it's too early to decide. If so we would definitely wait til T is a year old to start trying. Ideally if we had a second baby it would be born by the time I am 39 and my husband is 40 or 41. We could wind up running out of time even if we do TTC again since we would really only have about 15 months to get pregnant under those conditions.

Honestly probably in my 20s. Not that there is anything wrong with later but because I started early I don't want to be in the baby stage for too long. We hope to enjoy our empty nester time relatively young.
coconut / 8472 posts
I'm hoping I have our 2nd and last when I'm 37, 38 at the latest. If it doesn't happen by 38 we'll have to reassess because I don't want to be super old when my kids are finally leaving the nest, and I don't think my body will handle pregnancy very well over 40. It was hard enough at 35.
