My girls have never had a theme to their room, but starting this weekend we will be putting together LO's big girl room and it's going to be horses! She doesn't know it yet but I think she will be excited. It's really just horse bedding and a horse canvas for now, but we will add to it if we find some other cute things in the near future. LO2's room is just painted green with accents of aqua, it's actually quite boring but we will give her a theme once she gets into something in a year or two.

I'm still waiting to see what E is interested in, but she and baby #2 will share a room when they're little. So far this room is light olive, a neutral almond color, and a sort of vintagey light rose pink. Some girly touches like a crystal chandelier and a frilly curtain

Superheroes/comics. We had so much fun putting it together while waiting for our travel call. I am going to take some photos for a blog post this weekend.

The theme is stuff we already had in our house.
I drove myself crazy trying to decide what to put on the walls, and finally decided to pull a bunch of artwork from a friend of my MIL's that we already had in our home. Someday I'd like to do super theme-y rooms based on their interests.

Just did a color "theme". Lavender, gray & white.

Sort of a Parisian theme, though not overwhelmingly so. There is an Eiffel Tower (small) lamp, toile print glider, a couple of things written in French.

No theme. Just pink and brown. Will do a theme if she wants it when she gets a big girl bed.

L's room is Tomorrowland themed and D's is Adventureland. I'm a Disney World nerd and they're too young to care.

No real theme but Ts nursery had some nautical elements and his big boy room has cars, planes, trucks etc. The baby's room has animal prints ( giraffe, elephant, monkey, lion)

My twins' shared room didn't have a theme -- just aqua and red.
That room is turning into DD's room once DS transitions to his own room. Hasn't happened yet, but the color scheme lends itself to Madeline. So Paris, Eiffel towers, etc.
DS's room is all about trucks. It's lime green and navy. -
Not much of a theme, but I love owls so I collected a few pieces for his room. It's grey, butter yellow and turquoise. It sort of took on a forest creature theme.... and now it's kind of turning star wars. So... we're slowing going Endor.

In a perfect world with expendable cash, I'm sure it would have some sort of nautical theme.

J's current nursery is a very loose "Peter Rabbit" theme, but that's really just the crib bedding and a snow globe. Everything else is vintage-y looking.
The new baby will inherit the Peter Rabbit bedding once he/she sleeps in the second nursery, though, and J will get some old-fashioned looking dog stuff in his room because he LOVES puppies. That's why my general theme is "vintage" - you can adapt it to different interests over the years.
Also, you can use a lot of old family stuff/hand-me-downs

I would say it's a mashup of red/white/blue and nautical. There's not one nautical element in the room other than a small banner, but that was what I was going for.

Stars and space. We have a star print duvet and sheets, glow in the dark stars on the wall, a space-themed growth chart and an Oliver Jeffers print from How to Catch a Star.
DD's room is completely undecorated, I can't decide what I want for her!

DS's room is rainbow themed. One rainbow artwork and then a lot of bright multicoloured stuff. Pale grey cot and white walls to balance it all out. I love it, I think it's actually how I would decorate my own room if I didn't share it with my husband!

No real theme but it's all soft tones - grays, pinks, cream with vintage/dreamy prints and decor.

His theme is elephants. We have some elephant artwork, elephant bedding, and an elephant rocker.
