I've been fortunate enough to not have been injured. The worst was probably just bad whiplash when I was in a car accident a few years ago.

Mild traumatic brain injury about 10 years ago. I broke my toe a year or two ago too, that was not really that big a deal though.

Slammed my hand in a door as a kid and cut off the tip of a finger - amazingly, once reattached, everything worked and is normal-looking!

I broke my collar bone when a wave knocked me under and slammed me into a sand bar when I was ten.

@highwire: ?!
My worst was when I broke my arm snowboarding... I got cocky and hit this huge (awfully made) jump, panicked on the way down, flailed my arms, and landed on my right arm. I broke both bones in my forearm and now have two plates and 13 screws in it. Oops.

@highwire: I'm with @Rubies. How did that happen?!?
I got hit by a pitch playing softball (fast pitch). It hit the inside of my right leg by my knee. My growth plate was damaged. Luckily I didn't grow anymore!

@highwire: Wow, run over? How old were you?
@mrbee: This was from being robbed, right? I know someone who had a brain injury but I think it changed his personality permanently--he was ejected from a car during a car accident.
Worst injury was kind of having the side of my face ripped open from a car accident when I was a sophomore in college. The major reason I hate cars. I was pretty beaten up (my first and only helicopter ride had to be airlifted to a trauma unit), plus had a concussion, whiplash, and messed up my teeth. I felt like I was hit by a truck!

I fouled a ball off in my mouth in my softball playing days. It sucked.

@mrsjazz: Well technically they didn't ask for my money or take any... so not sure exactly what it was!
Dang your injury sounds BRUTAL!

I haven't been injured a lot so I consider myself lucky.
When I worked at a group home a few years ago, I was breaking up a fight and one of the girls threw one of those large metal three hole punches. I was in the middle and I got hit right in the forehead. I had to go to the hospital and get two deep stitches and eight surface stitches. I was lucky that it didn't hit my eye though.

Just smashing my fingers in a steal door when I was 8, my nails fell off. Oh, I also got my ankle caught in bike spokes and that tore all the skin off my ankle. Other than that, no broken bones or anything too serious. Thank goodness!

Broke my back sledding in college. It was awful! Feeling the after effects with carrying a baby around now.

Broke my arm when I was young, but lots of people do that. Grossest injury involved jumping off a counter top when I was 6 and getting a cabinet handle lodged into my thigh. I have a huge scar.
@mrsjazz: Oh my gosh; so scary!!

Probably the worst was from s bad car wreck that totaled my car. I was bruised all over and had the seatbelt imprinted on my body.

@Rubies: @mrbee: Yeah, it was no fun, I had to take the rest of the semester off and I do have a couple of scars on my face and neck. Daily reminder of why I hate cars! Now, most people don't notice them at first, they looked worse right after. And I was in another accident 9 months later--concussion and broken ribs. Cars are evil
@bree72: Cabinet handle lodged in your thigh. Ugh, that sounds horrible.

I pushed a baby out of my lady bits with no drugs, and it hurt quite a bit
haha - j/k! Mine was knocking out my two front teeth at a playground as a kid.

@Rubies: Yeah, it was pretty gross. Had to have my grandpa wiggle me off of it. Needless to say, the handles were changed. I can never look at a fleur de lis the same.

@Rubies: @ms.janedoe: @Leialou: @mrsjazz: I got backed over by a car and my head hit the curb...I was 9.
It was actually a hit and run. The guy took off afterwards but they caught him and he went to prison.

@highwire: Ohmahgawd, lady! So glad you were OK and that they caught him!!! Seriously cannot believe some people...

@highwire: oh my goodness! how awful! i'm glad you're ok now! head injuries are scary stuff.
i had a compound fracture of my left forearm. it was pretty gross. i had nightmares after for a long time of watching it fold in half and the bone popping out, and the sound, the awful sound. the dr had to re break it a couple weeks later (no drugs, WTF?!?) because it wasn't healing properly, it's still messed up but i've refused the surgery so far. breaking it again sucked & hurt right away, at least the first time i went into shock and nothing hurt til the next day. i also took a field hockey ball to the face & broke my orbital/cheekbone area which looked pretty awful right after but hasn't caused me any problems later in life
