Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but since stress really *is* a health issue, this board seemed appropriate.
The money/stress thread got me thinking - what is your biggest stressor? (You can vote for more than one.)

Money, my health/TTC (for me these are connected), going back to school. A few days ago mr. Bird's unemployment would have been up there, but he's been made a few offers & is just making choosing which is the best fit. Hopefully that will ease some of the money stress

A little work, DH's work and LO's needs.
@mrs. bird: Yay for Mr. Bird!

@mrs. bird: Congratulations, that's great news!
I am in the same boat - my two biggest stressors are my health and TTC - which are basically the exact same thing. Damn you, endometriosis!!!

@lawbee11: Yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!
Thinking about giving sleep training another spin as long as he doesn't cry so dang hard he throws up. Sigh. Almost 10 months andthis extremely tired momma has only gotten 4 consecutive hours of sleep like MAYBE a handful of times.
Work - our shop is down two employees and it's killing us because I gotta work both places (shop and corporate job) and my hubby is handling it himself. Not fun!

I voted money.
We've always planned on fixing or replacing our roof this month or next month, but my dog had unexpected surgery and we just spent a crap load of money at the vet
DH is starting his doctorate degree in July and we just started paying tuition. He also went from 1 full time job to 2 part-time and his pay is def decreased.
And baby is coming in Dec

Money, Child Care, Relationship. Besides money my biggest stress is trying to watch LO in the AM to let DH sleep in, so I try to juggle working, watching her, and letting him sleep (after he gets home from work at 1am.) I wish we could just do FT daycare but then he'd never see her.

TTC, money, my health and my sons needs are what I put. The TTC and health stuff is exacerbated by the fact that we don't have money for the cost of appointments or treatments we might need to pay for out of pocket if I can't get pregnant even after weaning. My sons needs is actually less about the one session of nursing he does and more the sensory issues he may have. I constantly worry about making sure he is getting what he needs for a good future.

Moving. Putting our house on the market. Our realtor just told us that our house isn't getting a lot of hits on the coming soon website. Ugh.

I picked three.
Work - I can't decide whether to take a promotion and I'm worrying myself sick about it.
LO's health problems - Waiting on a ped referral for her "asthma" that I don't really think is asthma.
Relationship - We need to work on the intimacy side of our relationship and I just don't want to.....
I'm too tired!!

I picked 3. Money ALWAYS stresses me out no matter what. My health issues (mostly surrounding TTC - PCOS, Thyroid, etc) are stressing me out. I also chose TTC because we are in the middle of IVF which is stressful.!

Housing. We are moving cross country in 2.5 mos and don't have a house to own or rent yet.

I would say work but it doesn't really need to be that way - I'm a contractor and I'm waiting to see what will happen with my contract. I'm also a little stressed with family issues, but there's nothing out of the norm there.

Most definitely home improvement, but also work. Work is busy, but the biggest stressor for me at the moment is that I can't even go home to my oasis/escape. Our kitchen was totally gutted so we've moved everything into the living room, and we're living with no sink (just the tiny bathroom sink) and a microwave.. that's it. Then yesterday they smoothed out the plastered walls and didn't put the tarps back up for some reason... so we came home to a first floor completely covered in a thick layer of plaster dust. EVERYTHING. We spent the entire night cleaning and everything is still coated (plaster dust turns into a paste and you just end up moving it around!). We have all of our kitchen stuff in boxes that I had left open so I could rummage through while we lived with half a kitchen (no oven before the gutting) and now no kitchen, and now everything in those boxes is covered in plaster dust. And of course no dishwasher to wash things en masse... and just a tiny bathroom sink that doesn't even fit a regular sized bowl in it. I'm ready to just throw everything outside and wait for the next rainstorm..

I voted for my top three
Money - is there ever enough being saved
Housing - our tenant just gave notice and we have to find a new tenant. I always want to find the best person who will stay long term. It's just stressful doing all the paperwork and weeding through applications and fielding inquiries
"Work" - I'm a SAHM but I'm keeping my license active and this year I have to fulfill all my CLE requirements, some of which have to be "live" credits. It's the first time I'm paying for the classes out of pocket (usually your employer will pay) and I'll have to find a sitter for the days when I have to attend an in person class. Not looking forward to sitting through these classes as a nauseous pregnant lady

@mrs. wagon: that sounds awful!!! Hopefully you get your beautiful dream kitchen soon and it will all be worth it!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@sandy: thanks!! I know it will all be worth it, but this week has been so awful. It's bad enough trying to operate without a kitchen with two small kids.. but then cover the limited living area we've been dealing with in plaster dust...!! I feel like it can't get any worse... but I shouldn't say that

I voted money and TTC, which are related for me. We just got the go ahead from our doctor to skip our next two IUI's in favor of IVF and we have no idea how we are going to pay for it. We could save for a couple years and then do it but we really want to have a baby soon.

I"m voting 'other". It's time management. I am so crunched for time, it stresses me out that there aren't enough hours in the day. I work, work out, then I'm running at like, 100 mph all evening.

I voted "LO's needs". Since she had the stomach flu during Easter, our sleep routine has gone out the door. She sleeps in bed with us and she's a huge bed hog, it's hard to get good sleep. We're also transitioning to the terrible-two's and warmer weather -- meaning a demanding toddler that always wants to be outside (especially since the sun is out until late evening). I'm really, REALLY scared about summer when daycare is closed and she's home with us. She's gotten used to the routine at daycare where she sleeps outside to nap using their ginormous pram. She doesn't have that at home and nap time is always a big fat failure during the weekends (doesn't help her night time routine either).
I'm also worried about all the changes that'll happen come August. I'm going back to school which means longer daycare hours and a completely different routine for the whole family.

I voted money, looking for a job, and school, which are all related. The school and looking for a job are actually DH. He's just finishing his first year of grad school and his schedule has been really stressful since he's SO busy. He's also looking for a part-time gig for extra income for the summer with little luck. He was a TA during the year and will be doing unpaid research in the lab this summer...but we need money since I'm the primary bread winner and I'm hardly winning any bread!!!

I voted housing, but really meant moving: selling our furniture, packing everything else up, dealing with moving companies, finding a new place to live in an area that is 3 times more expensive....maybe should have voted money as well. And trying not to let this affect the kids too much.
pomelo / 5607 posts
I put someone else's health, since it's really LO that's got the issues, but since I'm the one who is pregnant maybe it's my health? Either way, don't have a lot of stress in my life normally, so LO's issues are the only big problem.
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
My health and LO's. mostly hers. I get stressed when she's sick and she's been sick the majority of the past couple months.

School. But I will be done (for the semester) in 24 hours!
Then only work and DH will stress me out. I wish I knew how easy life was in undergrad and appreciated it then!!

I voted your child's needs ~ My oldest has some major anger issues going on, and his bio Dad has been non-existent for the past 3.5 years and that is wrecking havoc on him
I put him counseling last month.
and
Family Issues ~ The first one is my Husband deploying for a year, he's already "active" and away from home but won't leave until June. It's going to be so hard, our 2 year old is missing him something fierce.
Second my parents have their property listed, my Dad is working out of state so everything is falling on my Mom and I don't think she can handle much more stress. They received an offer on it and they've been countering back and forth a few times. To top that off the home they made a contingent offer on (that's been on the market for over a year) received a cash offer the same day the offer on their home came up. She's so worried they're going to lose their dream home because the broker representing the buyers is a total jack @ss that only deals with city/flipping situations, not my parents case.

Selling our rental property! It was supposed to close a week and a half ago and things just keep coming up. I just want it to be over!!
