What is your definition of a big baby at birth?

@MrsMccarthy: Thank you! I had a 6lb 10oz, 21" baby with a 100th percentile, non-coning head. She looked like a C-section baby with her perfectly shaped noggin. She may not have weighed much but she was a big baby to me.

    9+

Both LO's were mid-high 8's but they still seemed so tiny!!

@oliviaoblivia: lol! Go you!! I wa afraid dd was gonna be big and then she was just over 7 lbs (no cone though) and she was in nb clothes like 6-8 weeks!! She was tiny!

@Corduroy: I agree completely! Similar stats for my guy (only he had a mega cone head), and he was stuck for a while, so to me he was huge! I swear my water broke because he ran out of space in there, but I'm super short and had been threatened with ultrasound measurements of 9+ pounds which had me freaked out.

Ultimately all babies are huge when you think about them passing through a 4 inch (10 cm) opening.

    For petite people, 8 lbs+. Otherwise 9 lbs+!

    I think 9+ is a big baby!

In always thought 9+, but when we had our 8lb2oz little guy everyone kept saying "wow, what a big boy!!"

@Mrs. Jacks: I was induced just shy of 40 weeks due to LGA. An earlier ultrasound showed her at 8lbs 13 ounces and she was born a few weeks later at 9.5

9 and up. I was 8lbs 8 oz at birth and my siblings were in that range (except for my giant 10 lb brother). 8 seems normal to me.

    Higher 8's and up.

8 and up. I had a barely 6 lb baby, and so even though he was little, 8 lbs seems huuuuge.
Although I've seen plenty of "big" babies end up as long lean babies, and "smaller" 7 lb babies turn into chunkos, so it doesn't seem to matter

@loveisstrange: ditto. It's weird that I'm hopeful to only have a nine pounder when we have another.

    I'd say 8 1/2 and up.

I'd say 8.5lbs and up, mainly because I'm little and if my baby is anything bigger than that I'm gonna freak out, lol.
