I feel like the tile floor in my kitchen will never be clean with a toddler running around.
I usually vacuum and use my Shark mop...but it still isn't clean enough!
What is your cleaning routine for your kitchen floor?

My routine is to wait until the floors gross out my husband and let him vacuum/mop!!!

I sweep and swiffer the kitchen/bathroom floors but they feel like they get dirty SO fast with all of the food that E drops. I sweep 1-2 times per day and swiffer twice a week.

Sweep, swiffer, swiffer, mop. On the carpet, I vacuum it whenever it starts to gross me out.

@autumnlove: I have one that has "juice" (haha NO idea what it's called IRL- it's swiffer juice in our house ;)). It attaches to the side of the swiffer and there's a button on the handle that you push to squirt some out.

These days I get on my hands and knees and hand sweep the floors with a damp (vinegar + water) cloth or paper towels.
Or I vacuum using my shark!

@autumnlove: Yep. I have two cats and a dog. The hair gets everywhere.

@chopsuey: ditto! I think this old fashioned way gets things the cleanest. I do this constantly!! Really look forward to the day when the kids can be neat eaters. Lol.

@Andrea: Kale chips and my toddler = gross floors!

@autumnlove: kale chips are soooo messy! Glad you got into them, though.

I vacuum with my cordless upright and then mop with a spray microfiber mop filled with a solution of vinegar + water.

Sweep and Shark stream mop twice (once on each side of the pad). I also keep a paint scraper for sticky stuff that doesn't come up fast.

I Swiffer (dry then wet) a couple times a week and do a hands-and-knees cleaning once every two weeks. I wipe under his highchair after every meal though, he's so gross.

I sweep, swiffer(dry), swiffer mop. I totally want to add steam mop too. Sadly I don't clean as much as I want to. I'm slowly getting back to my routine since LO is looking to walk and practice her pincer grasp.

Well I don't do it, but DH sweeps and then uses the shark steam mop. We also have a housekeeper that comes every other week and she does a really good job of mopping our floors.

I have to vacuum, steam mop and vacuum again, daily. Every two weeks I mop by hand. Dark hardwood floors show everything and the LO's are always dropping crumbs!

Sweep and swiffer all floors. When I'm ambitious ill wet mop them too but that's rare. I'd say I sweep every day and swiffer once or twice a week.

Love this thread! My shark is getting lonely these days and hubby is becoming immune to the ick factor.

I sweep multiple times a day, steam mop, then I soak the shark pad in a cleaner and wet mop with it. I think I'll try the water/vinegar mix next, my floor always feel sticky.

I use a broom to get all the big stuff, then a swiffer vac to get the dust and little stuff I missed, and then a shark steam mop to clean.

Every day I use my swiffer vacuum (LOVE - so quick and easy) and a quick mop with my vileda powermist. Once a week I haul out the vacuum. We have a cleaning lady who comes every 2nd week and she does a really good job vacuuming/mopping

@Danizaur: @char54: Swiffer Vac? I am going to check Amazon right now!

I sweep 4-5 times a week, wet swifter mid-week, and Shark on the weekends.

I dry swiffer, then use the shark mop. I touch up certain places by getting on my hands and knees and using disinfecting wipes!

I use my Swiffer vacuum daily like @char54, unless it is a day when I am using the Dyson (2-3 per week). Then I use the Swiffer Wet Jet once a week to clean the floor. I have wood laminate floors downstairs (kitchen included) with the exception of the bathroom which has tile floors. I use the same routine for the tile, but I wash those by hand every 2 weeks on top of my regular routine. I feel like the grout between the tile never gets clean enough!

I use a dry mop and then Bona floor cleaner. I've found that lightly misting a Swiffer dry cloth w/one spray of floor cleaner and then getting down to scrub the floor gets the floors super clean.

@autumnlove: swiffer vac is amazing! So lightweight, cordless, and picks up pet hair/dust like crazy.

@char54: I bought one at Target and I'm in love! Thanks!

@autumnlove: I am going to look into this on my next target run!
I used to clean my floors 1-2 times per week bc LO napped so much. Now I'm lucky if I get to it once a weeks...so sometimes it goes 1.5-2 weeks...yuck! I usually dry sweep/mop with a microfiber thing and then wet mop with hardwood floor cleaner. I touch up with my dyson every once in a while too but nothing beats doing the whole floor cleaning routine. I'm looking into getting cleaners to come help before I have baby #2
