I had my LO in April and I loved it that way. My pregnancy wasn't miserable and hot and it wasn't too cold or hot when LO was born. However next time I want a holiday baby, born around thanksgiving or Christmas!

My LO was due at the end of March, born at the beginning of April, and it was perfect. I would hate to be pregnant all summer.

My baby was also born in april. It was ideal, not too cold and not too hot.

both charlie and olive were born when it was cold (oct 5th and dec 10th). it kinda sucked because we were indoors a lot. it was one of the snowiest years ever when charlie was born. but then again once it was spring, they were old enough to really enjoy the playgrounds all through spring, summer, and fall, so it worked out!
also all our birthdays are month after month - sept, oct, oct, dec, so i like that they're close together!

MY LO is due is Feb, and so far, so good. I'm not super thrilled about the chance of snow, etc, but then again, I'm having a scheduled c-section so I'm not too worried about it.
I AM super thrilled to not have to be super pregnant during the summer. So far, I'm 26w and haven't had any swelling yet....thank goodness. I hope it stays that way.

I think any season would be great to have a baby (although maybe I'll change my mind after my pregnancy)! Although I don't think I'd like to have a baby during the Christmas or New Years holiday.

LO was a holiday baby and I'm expecting in April! I think I got lucky both times...I won't be huge in summer months.

I am due the middle of March. I think this is perfect. I wasn't really pregnant during the hot summers. She will get here and it won't be super cold. I will be on leave during the spring, although pollen season, so we should be able to go on walks every day to get out of the house.

My husband is a professor and is done with classes in early June, and doesn’t start back until September; so for us, having a June baby was ideal. LO was due the day after my husband stopped teaching, so we were both with her for 12+ weeks before we returned to work.

I'm pretty excited to be due Saturday of Memorial Day weekend! I'll be on maternity leave all summer!

I would actually love to have a baby around this time of year. I love that everyone gets excited with the holidays coming up, the weather is nice, etc.

Just had LO in October, preggo during the summer was not fun!
If we don't have any trouble conceiving, we will be trying next summer, for a Spring baby! We should say not hockey season baby, we didn't factor that in with this one and it's tough, DH coaches university hockey (5x a week, incl 2 games a weekend) on top of his FT job. It will (hopefully) be great to not have summer months to be pregnant through. If "timing" it doesn't work, I'll happily be pregnant anytime realistically!

anytime that doesn't involve being more than 4-5 months pregnant during the summer! i'm pretty intolerant of heat/humidity, so i'm relieved that my due date is in january.

My LO was born in May and it wsa awesome - pregnant during winter and then it wasn't too hot right when LO was born and I had the whole summer as maternity leave!

Winter or Spring. N was born in January, and Baby #2 will be born in February... winter in California is really nice, and it was great being in the third trimester with the crisp, cool air and mostly sunny days!

@Mrs. Bee: All our birthdays are pretty close together too! Jan, Feb, March, then July. I like how they're somewhat spaced out too so they don't fall in the same month.

Due in March and people have been telling us how nice it is to have a Spring baby b/c she will grow and mature with the seasons just like nature.

I had my LO in May. It was perfect. it started to get hot the last four days before i delivered and i started to swell up....i was so thankful i didnt have to be pregnantt through the summer.

I'm glad we have a holiday season baby coming (due the day after Thanksgiving). By the time I was giantely/uncomfortably pregnant the weather was starting to cool down. I can't imagine being this big in the middle of summer...

I don't care what season we end up having a baby in. My only concern is that I am pregnant in 1 deductible year for insurance purposes. I guess by default that means I prefer fall/winter

I'm due just after new years and am happy that when I don't want to be out in the snow and cold I'll have a little baby to hibernate at home with. By the time the weather is better she'll be more alert and better able to be outside - perfect!
And I get two paid weeks off at Christmas that don't count towards my maternity leave. (only 32 working days left - yippee skippee)

I loved having my DS in October. Being pregnant over the summer didn't bother me one bit. I am not sure I would like to be pregnant over the winter because I am really picky about coats, it takes me forever to find one that I love. I know that sounds petty but I really enjoyed shopping for fun new summer clothes. I am hoping to be pregnant around the same time frame next time.

@oliviaoblivia: That's awesome about your holiday time off that don't count! Yay for extra time with LO!

I think late spring or summer- easier to dress and they can spend time outdoors. I worry about itty bitty babies in the winter.

I had my LO at the end of June and it was pretty good, I liked the weather being warm and not worrying about taking LO outside (except when it was super hot), only thing I didn't like was how high our AC bill was from me being home all day during the summer! We might try and have the next one in the spring so the weather is still nicer, but I'm back at work during the extreme hot part of the year.
honeydew / 7589 posts
Early Spring, because you can be heavily pregnant during the cold months, and it's warm enough when the baby is born to go outside for walks when it's a few weeks old.

Ideal month: October, then we'll be inside for the chill and be here for Christmas.

I had my son in the spring and the weather was perfect. My daughter was born in the summer and it was super hot but I was indoors most of the time anyway so it didn't really matter.

summer due to work schedule. We planned it that way and are fortunate it worked out for us!

Spring! It was nice being pregnant during the fall and winter.

LO was born at the beginning of May. For me, pregnancy-wise, that was perfect. Like others said, wasn't super pregnant in the hot summer and the weather was mild when she was a newborn. The thing that was hard is that DH is a commercial fisherman and the season starts May 1. He had to go to work almost right away when she was born. For the next one I would love an early december baby. That was DH can be home for more time between seasons, and it will still be cool during the last part of my pregnancy!

We had a spring baby and it was a great time to be pregnant. If we have another DH would like to have more of a summer baby to make birthday parties easier.

Ideally we're looking at early summer: May/June. Reasoning is that DH will be finishing his academic year and will have lots more time to stay home and be with baby/me. We're waiting to TTC until Aug/Sept for this reason.. but you know what they say about "best laid plans..."

My ideal month(s) would be January and February, which is my "off" season for work! And then I could take 3 months a bit slower and be ready to jump back in April/May.
pomelo / 5178 posts
Both of my kids were born in the spring (March and June - which is still sprintime where I live, lol). It was perfect! If we have another, I think we'll shoot for an April baby.
pomelo / 5093 posts
Early spring probably. I had mine in September, and I didn't mind being pregnant in the summer. I hated having a newborn when the winter started, though, because it was that harder to get out and walk around and not go crazy sitting at home. It would be perfect to have a baby just as the warmth is coming back.
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
I had a February baby and I really liked it... it was cold, but since we're in the PNW, not freezingly so. Also, it was nice not having to be 9 months pregnant in sweltering heat! Don't know if I could've handled that.
