Susan, after my aunt. I really don't care for it though.

Mine is Danielle - which is the name I go by. My first name is Leah. Going by my middle has been a huge pain in the butt! Something I would never to do my child.

@lolabee: Interesting, I've never heard of a female doing that, just males for Jr/Sr so it doesn't get so confusing.

Mine is Eva - @lolabee: I always wanted to go by my middle name because I like it more than my first name. But I bet it would be confusing with teachers and stuff growing up.

@Bao: My Mom thought my names sounded 'prettier' that way....thanks Mom! Everything get confusing where names need to be called out, tons of mail comes addressed incorrectly and on certain documents I have to sign L. Danielle. In general just annoying
@FriedBabyMama: Yup, confusing for teachers/substitutes anything of that sort. Kids used to ask why I was using a fake name lol! I do like both of my names though and would have been happy to be called be either.

I have two: Catherine, and my mother's maiden name (my brothers have this as their second middle name as well).

My middle name is Danyeil. It's pronounced just like Danielle but my mom has a thing for names that are different.

Elizabeth.
A friend in college had a theory that all middle class white girls had the middle names: Marie, Ann, Lynn, or Elizabeth.
My mom and sis are both Marie's. I see all 4 highly represented on this list!

@yellowbird: Mine is Lauren too! Is yours pronounced "Lorin" or "La-ren"?

I didn't have a middle name until I got married. That's when I shifted my maiden name over as my middle name. When my customers found out I didn't have a middle name, they "assigned" me Lynn. I like how it flows with my first name, and wish I had thought to put that as my middle name when I went to change my name after marriage!

@lolabee: I go by what was my middle name too. I dropped my first name when I got married. So now it's former middle name, maiden name, last name. Yes, it was a huge pain in the ass to do.

Aline...never met anyone else who has that as a name besides in my family. It was my Grandmothers name and my moms middle name as well. Here in two months when LO is born it will be her middle name as well.

@anonysquire: I pronounce it la-ren but I've heard others say it lorin. I figure there's an a for a reason!

Louise (mom's middle name also). That's 3 Louises on this thread--growing up I felt like it was an old lady name and I was the only kid who didn't have a cool middle name!
