I've been wanting to try coconut or almond milk but I've never tasted either. I don't want anything overwhelming.

almond milk is really subtle in my opinion. The transition from cow's milk to that was really simple. As long as you get the unsweetened version it shouldn't be too strong.

Typically some kind of milk. I think coconut milk is very mild.

Coconut water and a whole (peeled) orange. I used to use almond milk but it would make the smoothie too creamy for my taste (although some people love creamy smoothies). I used to use OJ but it has a lot of sugar in it, so now I just use a whole orange.

We use coconut milk.
I like it because of the fat.....I am on a limited diet, so the extra fat and calories is good for me!
AND IT TASTES DELICIOUS!

Coconut milk is my favorite. I find it less overpowering than almond milk. I use both, though, for variety.

water! I do a juicy fruit (like kiwi or berries) to get that extra liquid with my spinach or kale. I also always use a banana which I feel gives it that creamy texture.

@CupQuakeWalk: Do you notice a difference in flavor between spinach and kale? I've never tried to use kale.

@rahlyrah: Kale is def a bit more...grassy? When I use kiwi and banana is masks it though. I don't love spinach and banana because it comes out almost too creamy.

@rahlyrah: The unsweetened coconut milk in the carton (from like Silk or Trader Joe's) tastes like nothing, just creamy. No real coconut taste and pretty low in calories. Same with unsweetened almond milk. We either use that, or orange juice, or we'll just use yogurt and a splash of water.

We use almond milk. We also use either kale or spinach - I have a tough time telling the difference between the two if there's other fruit in there.

I prefer drinking cow's milk to almond milk, but in smoothies I can't tell a difference.
I usually use water, ice cubes, and yogurt in my smoothies.

Just water. If I had extra grocery money I'd love to use coconut water.
In the summer I like using cucumbers to replace half my water. Makes the smoothie SO refreshing!

I use unsweetened almond milk. It is really mild and makes a great base.

I use almond milk, very mild, you could also use vanilla almond milk for a little sweetness, neither will overpower your smoothie.
