LO is a daddy's girl through and through. I sense that she has a strong personality and sometimes I think she hates me. I know that she can't actually "hate" me (yet!) but I fear that we have clashing personalities and this fear keeps me up at night.
My relationship with my mom was typical as I was growing up - she was super strict, and I was the obedient but resentful daughter. Now, we're very close.
What's your relationship like with your mom?

My parents divorced when I was an infant and my dad had custody of me. He was the strict parent and my mom was the fun parent. When I turned 14 I went to live with her. Until then I was shy to the point it held me back. She was able to bring me out of my shell. Now that I am an adult we are really close. I can tell her anything. She is my mother as well as a friend.

My mom and I are very close now, but growing up, maybe not so much. I mean, we were close-ish, but she was strict and I rebelled a little bit, so we definitely clashed at times. But now we're very close and we're very similar. I can definitely see myself parenting just like my mom did.

You're a SAHM right? I think it's hard for us because we're with them all day long. We're not exciting, they don't have a chance to miss us like they do their daddy's. But that doesn't mean they don't love us! My LO gives her biggest giggles and smiles to her daddy, and of course I'm jealous. But when she's crazy upset, she only wants her mommy 
I love both my parents, but I'm closest to my mom. We always had a lot in common so we've always done a lot together. My mom was a SAHM when I was young, and she always made us kids her priority. I only hope I'm as good of a mommy as she was!

I'm very close to my mom as well. When I was a kid and a teenager, not so much. Part of it was mostly because we didn't understand where the other was coming from. But as a mother now, I totally appreciate all that my mom did for me growing up.

I'm so jealous of all of you with good relationships with your moms because mine is horrible. She did and let a lot of things happen to my sibs and me. Honestly, I'm just waiting for her to disown me again so I never have to deal with her ever again.

Very metaphorical, like a carnival ride. Fun and scary, all at the same time. There are notes of apprehension and regret, but all in all, it's a joyous and memorable experience.

My mom and I have always been very close. Minus, that year in high school when all we did was piss each other off! 
My mom was hands-on and definitely the one who did all the dirty in raising me and my brother. Now that I'm older, our relationship has evolved to where she says I take care of her and my dad now. It makes me feel good knowing that I can do that to pay them back in fraction for what they gave me growing up/raising me.
We talk at least once a day and while there are days that she still annoys me, I am her best friend, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

My Mom's not the motherly type. It took me awhile to be fine with that. But in turn, that made me more motherly.
She's a feisty little woman that's a little crazy, but I love her anyway. We definitely have to live apart though, for my sanity and well-being!

@Rubies: do you watch up all night? They just had an episode where the sahd thought his baby hated him, and all he needed was some me time. I'm pretty bad at taking me time and having date nights ... but everyone says it's helpful!

We are close but not as much as we used too. As much as we all change I feel like my mom has issues sometimes, but that doesnt take away that she's a wonderful mother and amazing grandmother.
We talk about stuff, and sometimes have cry sessions, so it's nice that shes so close.

My mom and I don't get along well... She disliked me once I started having my own personality. She always left me with my grandma. She would always buy my siblings stuff but never me. She actually admited she didn't like me very much because I act too much like my dad... I didn't even tell her I was pregnant either time, I let someone else tell her.

My mother and I are very close. We went through our ups and downs (especially through my teenage years) but we have a great relationship now.
I will say that I think being a SAHM might be part of it as a PP poster said. My mother was a SAHM and though I LOVED her and looking back am so appreciative that she stayed home with us, I was always very excited to see my dad when he got home, etc. My dad and I also have very similar personalities so I am sure that my mother had the same fears you did.
I'll share this little story. When I was in first grade, we were told to write a little story about our parents. So I wrote one about all the fun things I did with my dad and then I wrote at the end "and my mom cooks." Of course I am horrified by this now, but I think that when there is a SAHP, then the other parent has a certain novelty for a child, because they don't spend as much time with them.

My mom and I are really close. I was a total Daddy's girl growing up, and my mom and I seemed to "clash" more when I was younger, but not like anything extreme. Think it was because we are so much alike, and now we are best friends and I can talk to her about anything.

@themcmom: I have the same relationship with my mother. I love her because she is my mother, but I dislike her as a person. I honestly wish I never, ever felt this way, but she's not a good person whatsoever. She's very selfish and selfless.

My mother too, always dumped me with my grandparents. She threw extravagant parties for my brothers and bought them the greatest presents. I was nobody to her. She abused me mentally, emotionally, and physically and gave my brothers all of her love.

I am super close to my Mom. In fact, I talk to her almost daily and often our conversations end up being conference calls with my older sister. We went through a rough patch when I was in HS when we just rubbed each other the wrong way, but since then, I've felt like my Mom is more of a friend than an authority figure, and I like that.
