I make a mean chili. I didn't know it was my "signature" dish until someone begged me to make it for a party. Who knew?
What's YOUR signature dish?

Hm. I don't think I have one? I make a killer galbi. crazy good kimchee jjigae. super delicious shrimp scampi. to die for turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes. HAHA.
I don't have a signature dish sadly. I love to cook though!
Send me your chili recipe please.

@chopsuey119: Come visit me so you can cook for me. Kimchi jjigae is my favourite. I'll email you the chili recipe soon!

Sticky rice. I didn't even know I made it well, but everyone always makes me make it! I eat it almost every meal! Even my cats eat it.

I'm more of a baker. My hubby would say it is PB&J cookies. But I'm most proud of mini blinis.

I make a really yummy Pear, Walnut & Blue Cheese Pizza appetizer that people often ask me to bring for gatherings but I also really love to bake! Especially brownies & bars...mmmm!

Whenever I have people over for dinner they ask for Crispy Parmesan Ranch chicken with my risotto. For parties jalapeno popper dip or mini Runzas. (Runzas are a popular thing around Nebraska, sooo delicious!)

Both my husband and I love to cook, so we don’t really have signatures dishes. Usually for guests we make something like Caesar salad with homemade dressing or a risotto with roasted chicken or steaks, which always seem to impress people even though they are all really easy to make.
I guess the closest to a “signature” dish I have is that I make awesome gravy – southern style sausage gravy with no lumps. I hate lumpy gravy, and my grandma is southern and taught me well!

Mine is a chicken pot pie based on Ina Garten's recipe except mine is much less complicated!

Mmm... you're all making me hungry. Probably the recipe I'm most known for that's requested most often is Martha Stewart's cheeseballs three ways (cream cheese base with goat/green onions, blue cheese/shallots, cheddar/cranberry). So it's not even my recipe, haha.
Then there are the recipes inherited by the family: Thanksgiving Day broccoli casserole, Christmas Eve minestrone, etc. Otherwise, I don't necessarily have a signature recipe, but several "go-to" favorites when we're stuck on what to cook on any given night. I like trying new stuff all the time though!

Mine is chili, as well. My husband and I are huge chili lovers, so I have quite a variety of recipes to pull from, but people love my venison chili the most. Followed closely by my turkey, black bean and corn chili.

I used to make this awesome Chicken Divaine in a sweet crepe that is delicious. Haven't made it in AGES, maybe it's time to unearth that old standby!

Chicken Parm or Veal Parm. Im italian and its my Nonas recipe. Every time I visit the ILs or they come visit us they request it =o)

Hmmm...I don't really make the same thing all the time but I know my husband knows I love it when I make "dinner bowls." I'll put sushi rice on the bottom of the bowl, veggies on top of that (broccoli or asparagus) and steak or salmon on top of that. I marinate the salmon or steak in soy sauce, hoisin sauce and brown sugar. I'll top it off with soy sauce and toasted sesame seeds.

Mine is a greek-style meatloaf. Greek seasoning, sauteed spinach, kalamata olives, sauteed mushrooms, lots of feta cheese.
hostess / eggplant / 11068 posts
@mediagirl: Sounds delish! And easy - will totally try this one!
hostess / eggplant / 11068 posts
@sandsandmore: I tried meatloaf for the very first time last year and loved it - why does it have such a bad rap? Anyway, Greek-style anything is one of my faves.

Oh and dips! I love making dips. My new favorite is a Greek dip that has hummus, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, black olives, feta cheese and lettuce layered like a 7-layer dip. Mmmm.

@jessiejo17: yumm! Love Runza!
I'm more of a baker... Everyone loves my home made Chocolate chip cookies.. I'm not sure why, they are just cookies and straight out of a recipe book!

I don't make the same things over & over, so I don't really have a signature dish. my recipe folder is bulging with recipes that I've printed out & made once or twice that were great! I just don't want to make them again

Chicken Penne Pasta with Pesto Cream Sauce. It's easy but tastes so amazing!

I wish I had a signature dish! I haven't found one yet. These dishes all sound so yummy! There should be a 'favorite recipes' board because I get so bored with making dinners sometimes. These ideas would add variety.

Lamb Vindaloo. I also make an incredible seafood and rice curry soup that everyone requests constantly. I love cooking Indian Food.

@yoursilverlining: All of your signature dishes have me drooling here. My husband's from the South (Alabama). I love biscuits and sausage gravy. Anything made with buttermilk biscuits is a okay in my book.
I love Caesar salad too. The real deal dressing is amazing.

@Rubies: I made bbq turkey meatloaf for dinner on Sunday. It was awesome! I found a great recipe where it keeps the turkey moist while still having enough breadcrumbs for structure. When it felt too sticky, I slowly added more breadcrumbs. It became perfection then.

@mediagirl: was inspired by your comment and made chicken teriyaki bowls for lunch today! hubs loved it!

@chopsuey119: excellent! It's an easy meal and SO good!!

@plantains: i've never cooked indian food! i LOVE it though. The closest I've gotten to cooking indian is adding curry powder to my butternut squash soup!

I wouldn't say I have a signature dish but Im not going to lie I make some awesome meatballs

This thread is awesome! It's making me so hungry! I'm famous for my nachos among friends... I think my signature dinner recipe was Dave Leiberman's apricot chicken for a while, but now I'm all about the crock pot. My favorite so far has been chicken stroganoff on noodles. Rob Sr. has perfected his grilling skills with steak, so we do that a lot for friends who come over. DELICIOUS.

When I am in charge of dinner, DH typically requests takeout. At which I excel.

I love cooking and I end up bringing a lot of different things for friends so it's hard to think of a 'signature dish'. I will say though that I often make (and am complimented on) my cuban pork and black beans, which I then turn leftovers into a very good version of a cuban sandwich. My chocolate peanut butter cake is often requested when sweets are involved (it's peanut butter cake with chocolate frosting), and I make a really good chunky salsa/salad that gets requested when we have work potlucks (black beans, tomato, zucchini, jalapeno, balsamic vinagrette).
All your dishes are giving me awesome ideas!

I cook more than any of my friends but the most requested things are:
Sweet and spicy tortellini sauce
Beef stroganof
Bruchetta
Spinach artichoke dip
Now I need ALL of these. I'm starving.
