He's not a book person and doesn't like to read to LO. He will read whatever she picks out for him and he does it with a smile on his face because he wants her to read.... but he doesn't get pleasure in it.

"the lion king" because he picked it out for lo before he was born and "i love my daddy because..." for obvious reasons.

Dr. Seuss's "The ABCs" (I think we both have it memorized now...) and "I Want My Hat Back" by Jon Klassen (DH LOVES to make up voices for all of the animals...he started practicing them when I was pregnant!)

"But not the hippopotamus" but Sandrea Boynton. We laugh because we joke that it teaches exclusion

Goodnight Moon. Unpopular opinion, but I do not like that book. He loves it and is excited to get to read it to LO.

@pregnantbee: I don't like the book either. I told a father friend and he looked at me like i was crazy. What, it's a little creepy!
Right now, LO won't let DH read to her...:(

@Freckles: It's totally creepy. With no point really. I also don't like Dr. Seuss, so whatever.
(I've been a children's librarian, so I have pretty strong opinions about books :))
Hopefully she'll let DH read to her soon. Maybe he just needs to keep trying different books or reading in different "voices"?

@pregnantbee: Only *I* can read to her. It's really frustrating! She'll let him read 2 pages, and then she'll take the book away from him and make me finish it. She's totally going through mommy preference right now.

@Freckles: Awwww. Hopefully she'll let him at some point. At least she's still reading with someone

@artbee: ditto. My husband doesn't like to read either but will read to her for the same reasons. I'd say he likes the Sesame Street books like Bubbles Bubbles and At The Zoo since they're easy.

@mediagirl: Yes! He likes anything short, and it's a plus if he can use a silly voice
