$100 a week plus a trip to Costco once a month for $150. Sometimes less, that's my max. We have a high cost of living where I live. $400 would be just groceries with NO extras.

$100-$125/week plus a trip to Costco once a month that's around $100. I try to spend around $500 a month.

Whole foods, Costco, publix. Sometimes I'll venture to TJs or Sprouts but not often.

Weekly Budget: ~$150 (though I try to get this to include everything- i.e. tp, paper towels, shampoo, vitamins). Food generally is closer to $100-$130, that is a pretty good average. Might creep up to $175 or even $200 if I have a lot to stock up on at Target.

Stores you shop at: Aldi (go there first), local grocery store (everything else), wholefoods (usually for local eggs and chicken, maybe some veggies I can't find at my other stores). We have a TJs and Sprouts that are great but they're just too far from me for me to go there weekly. Haven't tried Costco yet (though we have a business membership) because I'm afraid I'll actually spend MORE going there....but I'm thinking I should switch to there instead of Target.

I usually make 3-4 meals a week. Generally I try to double things so I have enough for leftovers. Also, like to stock cheap items for quick meals (burritos is a favorite- mexican rice and beans mixed together, add cheese, homemade salsa) in case my shopping wasn't enough. Target for most household items but I try to stay strong there lol. If I end up over budget it is because of Target.

I should also add that daycare takes care of breakfast, lunch, and snack for LO. So that helps some. But normally I always eat leftovers for lunch.

$200 or so, yikes! 2 adults, 2 kids. I don't know how we'd do it for any less, and we definitely never (never!) eat out. This would be our all in cost though (household items for bathroom, cleaning products, laundry, etc.)

Veggies/eggs are all from our backyard or local farm and cost less than grocery store produce prices. We very consciously eat in season and from frozen or not at all from certain items when out of season.

Regular groceries are all walmart or no frills, or pricematched if I'm at more expensive store.

Meat are from local butcher, but not any more expensive then grocery store, just better meat! We eat 50% meat dinner meals, or less.

Weekly Groceries (just food) - $100

Monthly Sam's club run - $100 - for chicken/pork/hamburger, we freeze and use for the month

I do buy other meat occasionally with our grocery budget like steak/roast/ect. so weekly it does vary. Last week I got out under $80 because all I bought for meat was ground turkey and turkey bacon, we spend the most on protein source.

@Jackiedavis87: what are you cooking? I generally try to do cheaper recipes but are still really tasty. And often double by doubling things like beans (or adding them) but not the meat. But I could definitely spend more if I wanted for the same number of meals. My husband is often so busy he forgets to each lunch (he works out of our house) And we also live in the midwest- maybe cheaper overall than other areas.

I try to keep it to @$200. It's hard, especially if you want organic food.

I shop at Hannaford, Stop & Shop, and for a treat Whole Foods. We are thinking about joining BJs.

@Jackiedavis87: agreed. We live in New England, land of expensive groceries. It just is what it is.

3 people in our household, for groceries only I try to spend less than $150 a week and mostly hit that. This doesn't count any eating out, and we have quarterly trips to BJs that are $500+ for medicines/paper products/some meat and groceries. We also buy shares of cow/pig, and the above doesn't include that expense.

We don't buy really any prepackged or junk food, but do eat a lot of seafood and buy local farm eggs, milk and butter. $5 for a dozen eggs, $7 for a gallon of milk adds up. Meh, worth it.

Oh, ETA - the $150 a week also doesn't include any booze, which we do buy. We buy wine by the case and have it shipped in - around $100 per case and depending on what's going on that month (i.e., how many times we have other people over to dinner who drink which is at least several times a month lol) we buy 1-2 cases per month. So that's another $25 a week or more.

Oh, gosh. Too much. Instacart grocery delivery is my splurge right now. I spend about $200 twice a month there. Then I fill in with weekly trips to Target that are usually about $50 in groceries.

So, about $150/week.

Just groceries for 3 adults and one preschooler: $150 every two or so weeks. Giant grocery store, doesn't include formula, baby food, diapers, toilet paper, etc, most of which I get with S&S on Amazon.

It varies by week, but I budget $600 per month and usually come in pretty close to that. This is for two adults and a toddler, breakfast and dinner every day and lunch on the weekends. If you add in lunches for me and DH (DD's school provides hers), it's probably $850ish.

I do most of our shopping at Whole Foods and supplemental shopping at Metropolitan Market (local chain) and Trader Joe's. The cheaper grocery stores nearby are pretty gross and I don't have time to drive to the nicer cheap stores.

I try to stay around or under $150/week for our family of 3 (2 adults plus LO). That number includes all groceries and paper goods (how do we go through so many paper towels?!?) but not eating out, booze or diapers. We eat nearly all meals from this, except DH buys lunch at work daily because their cafeteria is subsidized by the company (and delicious!) so it actually works out cheaper for him to eat there.

I shop at Market Basket (NE chain) pretty much exclusively.

There are only 3 of us (DH, me, and DS)... and somehow we spend "around $250" every week at groceries and only groceries (not including Target trips)....! We do shop at Whole foods, buy a lot of fruits, veggies and protein (at least 1 lb of protein a day for lunch and dinner), and I pack lunch for all 3 of us. We eat out about 3-4 times a week.

We are trying to be mindful nowadays and trim the budget, look at the weekly specials / offers before planning our trip to the grocery store... and we are only doing chicken, pork, beef, and salmon/shrimp only when it is on sale lol. However somehow it is still way up there. ahhh.

Details: DH & I are pretty brand specific and limited in items so we don't "shop sales" - we just buy what we need. We eat out maybe 2x a week - one sit down, one fast food/coffee. I'm a vegetarian and we do organic milk & the "dirty dozen." We don't drink alcohol.

I budget $250/2 weeks. That's for groceries, diapers, household supplies, everything. Family of 4 (1 6mo in diapers and primarily BF/starting solids, 1 3yo out of diapers and eating full meals).

@brownepiano: omg, that would be awesome! My husband has to have meat at most of his meals and with that alone, we spend over that each week (not including all other items: dairy, fruit, veggies, etc). I bow down to you!
