I might be the party-pooper mom but I don't plan on letting my LO have candy!!
As some of the posters here know (lol) I eat pretty ridiculously healthy, and I haven't had refined sugar in months. I definitely think it's a lot worse than people are led to believe, so I will avoid it at ALL costs when it comes to DS.
I do think that pure, raw maple syrup and raw organic honey is okay because it's unrefined.
So I make my own healthy sweets at home, and DS can have those - which I find just as, if not more, satisfying as traditional sweets.
I'm sure I won't be able to shield him from EVERY candy ever... he'll hang out with friends, go to birthday parties and I can't take away his halloween candy for long lol. But I will limit it extensively when those events occur.
This post was inspired by the halloween post - and I'm conflicted on how to approach halloween now!
i dont want to introduce him to unhealthy foods but i know that he will see me and dh eating sweets occasionally and he will be curious so when he starts asking about sweets, he can have some in moderation of coarse.
but I remember being ALL for it!
