I'm trying to clean out extra stuff we have around the house and we have tons of linens we don't use.
Friends are coming to stay with us this weekend so I want to nail down what we are keeping and what we are donating.
I'm planning on keeping two sets of sheets, but I'm not sure what to keep in regards to blankets, quilts, and comforters. I'm never quite sure what to put on the bed and what to keep in the closet.
What do you do? What do you prefer when you are a guest?

We have a queen sized bed in the guest room. We have two sets of sheets for it. The bed also has a comforter in a duvet folded at the foot of the bed, a cotton blanket pulled up to the top where the pillows are, a dust ruffle and 4 pillows (2 shams, 2 for sleeping).

We only have 1 sheet set, but it gets washed immediately after a guest leaves and again right before a guest arrives if some time has passed between the two visits. We also have 4 pillows and 1 body pillow on the bed along with a comforter that's in a duvet.

Depends on the season
Right now we have sheets and a blanket and a quilt. I would also leave an extra blanket on the chair in case they needed it.
In the summer its just a sheet and a quilt and again I leave a blanket on the chair

In the winter they'll get what we get which is a comforter & duvet. For summer time probably keep a blanket/quilt too! I think one sheet set is sufficient; I don't think we ever have guests that come back to back!

We have one sheet set and a light duvet in the guest room. We don't have guests often and when we do I wash everything right away!

We have 1 sheet set. 4 pillows, but two are shams. The room gets cold so we have a comforter with a duvet. One of these days I will get a thin blanket in case the guests start to burn up under the comforter. There's also a dust ruffle. We have decorative pillows on top of the bed, but I remove them in a quasi - turndown service.
