LO is 21 months and I'm finally reading again. I haven't found a bookmark that she isn't fascinated with. I'm always trying to find my place again after she's removed it. I'm trying not to leave the books where LO can reach them but obviously I'm not too good at that.
Have you found a bookmark that LO isn't interested in?

Haha I never thought of this being a potential problem. Could you stick the bookmark in the middle of the page so it's not sticking out the top? Or will she flip through the pages anyway.

I typically use a tiny scrap of paper. It's not an attractive bookmark, but LO doesn't usually even notice it's there.

I just use what ever is near me... scrap piece of paper... junk mail... ripping part of a napkin.... has not been an issue with LO. 
I did use a dollar bill once and he took that out but gave it back to me... though totally losing my place. Oh well. Haha.

I just fold the page down, which I know you're totally not supposed to do, unless it's a library book...then I use a regular paper bookmark. Can you just stick it down far enough that it's not poking out?

Thanks, I'll try keeping a bookmark deeper in the book so she can't see it & keeping the book where she can't reach it.

Wait, you leave regular, non-board books within her reach? Brave soul/rock star! My books are back in my room out of their reach...sigh...22 month old twin boys...they would just rip the page in my books! Because the sound of ripping paper is irresistible.
