I usually drink nonfat but my dietician told me to switch to 1 or 2% because my OB wants me to gain a few lbs by my next appointment.
I just had a glass of 1% and it tastes so much better than nonfat! Yum!

Full fat milk! I also sometimes use evaporated milk (for baking) in my hot chocolate to make it extra creamy

We buy 1%--my preference is skim and DH prefers whole, so we compromise.

@Mrsbells: when I was 7 I had a cup of milk and left it on the counter for a bit and it got warm and then I came back to drank it and I've never been able to touch it since. Bleh it makes me shivery just thinking about it!

1%. I used to have 2% and DH always had skim, so we settled on 1%. I still think 2% taste better, and I cant stand skim, might as well drink water!

I verrrry rarely drink milk. I used to only drink skim, but since meeting DH, we typically have 2% around. Supposedly it's supposed to be "better" for you...who knows...

we drink whole milk. i especially like a cup of warm milk at night.
i was actually lactose intolerant for a while. it was not pretty. had the whole family switch to lactose-free milk, but they didn't mind since it tastes pretty good. i eventually lost my intolerance, and am back to normal milk. yay!

1% organic. I like skim, DH likes 2%, so it's a compromise like @tororojo.

I drink Simply Smart skim, it tastes supposedly tastes like 2%. Probably real 2% tastes better, but it still tastes a whole lot better than regular skim does.

@anonysquire: wow.. sorry about that experience though. I dont like milk on its own but I can have it with cereal or in a beverage. Do you like milk products like shakes, icecream or smoothies?
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@Mrsbells: I like cake batter ice cream and fudge brownie. Not a fan of shakes or smoothies or yogurt. I don't miss milk at all but my bones might

Lactose intolerant here but fridge is full of milk.. 2% for DD and whole for DS.

Skim milk, but it tastes so blah. I do occasionally buy single serve chocolate milks, and I know those are usually 2% :T

@softcream: how did you lose your lactose intolerance? I drink 2% lactose free milk but it tastes different than regular milk and I miss it.

We drink almond milk at home. When I get a latte at Starbucks I'll either get soy milk or 2%.

These days we're drinking whole, although I generally prefer 1%- I like that it's more watery.

@NerdBee: it was a process. i was intolerant to milk and soft cheeses and ice cream. it was a pretty distinct cause-and-effect. i started taking lactase tablets which helped.
my bf-now-dh wanted to figure out a way for me to not be dependent on the tablets for the rest of my life. so i stopped taking the tablets and just challenged myself a little bit at a time, meaning i would have just a couple bites of cheese instead of a whole serving. or a small glass of whole milk, instead of a full glass. i probably got sick a few times, but eventually built up tolerance again.
neither of us are doctors, but it worked for me!

@softcream: ooh thanks! I'll try that. I take lactase pills when I really want to eat something like ice cream or cheese cake but I hate to be dependent on the pills too.
I was magically able to tolerate lactose when I was pregnant and I was so happy! Alas, my lactose tolerance went away when LO was born

I used to prefer organic skim milk, but since TTC and especially now that I'm pregnant, I switched to organic whole milk. I didn't like the taste at first but I'm used to it now.
@sweetchic: I love those single serve chocolate milks, too!

@rahlyrah: straight from the cow we get it from a farm about 45 minutes away.
