My newborn rental stash is arriving any day, and I haven't prepped my regular stash because I'm scared of screwing them up! We are using newborn AIOs from BumGenius and my bigger dipes are BG 4.0s. We have a high efficiency washer, so I'm not sure what kind of detergent to use!

I have an HE washer, with medium-hard water. I started out using Rockin Green for hard water, and HATED it. I suppose it got the diapers clean, but they smelled musty and mildewy and sometimes like they weren't clean. I switched to Tide Ultra after a month of Rockin Green, and LOVE it! The diapers actually smell good (I love smelling them when they come out of the dryer... weirdo, I know!), and I haven't had any repelling or rash issues.

We use All Free & Clear small and mighty.

We have a top loading HE washer with medium-soft water. We found Tiny Bubbles worked best for us. Tried RnG (original and soft rock), Charlie's, Allen's Naturally, and something else before Tiny Bubbles became a win.

Sunlight or tide free & clear seem to be the two we use.

Tide Ultra powder in the original scent. Or Country Save. But I much, much, much prefer the Tide. We've been through lots of detergents.

Tide original powder (the box actually says Tide ultra here). I was told not to use "free & clear" detergents either. We haven't had any build up issues & I've never actually *had* to strip (I just do every 3-4 months). We tried making our own for awhile but went back to the Tide b/c the homemade made P break out. I really want to move to soapnuts though!

I'm using Allen's Naturally and it's working well so far, although I think the bottle could be better designed for pouring. We have an HE front loader. (And I use Purex Free & Clear for non-diaper laundry.)

I use Rockin Green regular (med. hard water), and so far it's worked fine for us. But we only have natural-fiber diapers (cotton & hemp), so that may make a difference. I know the microfiber in pockets/aio's hold in stink more readily.

Facinating about the tide powder - I thought that 'regular' detergent was off limits?

I use Charlie's powder. TBH, I based my whole CD set-up on what John and Sherry from YHL did, lol.

Country Save powder. Apparently it's the same thing as the Bumgenius powder. Our local shop has tested every kind out there and they said CS is what works best with our local water supply, so it was a no brainer, and it's pretty cheap. You just use less for HE machines.

We use the bum genius detergent and have been happy. My whoe stash is bg 4.0s. We dont have an HE washer but i think you just change the amount.
I have been so happy with the bgs overall that i amglad to support the companny. Plus they have free shipping and a bag lasts us a loooong time.

@MerryC: It is the same detergent, just rebranded! Country Save is our "middle of winter" detergent when LO's skin is extra sensitive.

For what it's worth, we haven't had any problems with the free and clear detergent and we've been using it for 5 months now.

We used Bio-kleen, but I actually liked country save better. It was just hard to get around here.
