@caffeinated: Two guys I dated in high school.have since come out. I didn't know at the time (and maybe they didn't either?); I just thought they were too nice to put the moves on me, lol!

Goth/punk/skater/gamer guys. Long hair and eyeliner was always a plus, but not required. I ended up marrying a nerdy gamer musician. lol! Guess I stick to my type!

Surfing stoners.. I was really hyper and loud until I was probably 19 years old or so (man I miss that energy), and I tended to gravitate toward very laid back guys. But towards the end of my senior year, I started dating my husband, who was the compete opposite. Never drank or did drugs, captain of the football team, super sweet all American kind of boy.

Very clean cut, preppy guys usually. It helped if they played trumpet (yes, I was a band geek). I did date one guy who had earrings and rode a motorcycle, but that didn't last long. We were just too different.

The Popular boys...Not so much bad-boy, just the good-looking popular ones. I was such a nerd and goody-goody, that I was attracted to the opposite of me.

@Rubies: Did you end up dating popular boys? I love stories of underdogs living their dreams!!

@mrbee: No way - I was in the friend zone with all the popular boys and they would want MY help setting them up with my pretty friends. I hated high school. In grade 10, I told a boy that I liked him and he got his friend to tell me that I was too chubby. Then in grade 11 I had another crush on another popular boy and he waited at my locker to tell me that he liked someone else - at least he was nice to me about it, right? Anyway, I didn't have boyfriends in high school - lots of crushes, but no boyfriend.

@Rubies: You liked them for who they were, right... it was just a total coincidence that they were popular and good looking!

Tall, lanky, athletic types with basketball player-type bodies.

@mrbee: LOL, totally. For real, we were good friends, which is how I developed crushes on them.

@zippylef: same here. Not so much on the eye liner, but definitely long hair, usually had to be in a band.
I also liked big husky guys, I'm really tiny and I like the idea of a big man around me.
I didn't got to a highschool with these types so I didn't really date anyone until after highschool.
My husband was in a band, he plays the drums and has piercings and tattoos and he's a total gamer nerd, he's on the shorter side but he's totally fit. I guess I stick to my type.
