I have a bachelors and masters in Social work an have been really happy with my decision, for the most part. I have wished, at times, that I had gone for nursing or nutrition but not enough to ever want to go back

@lawbee11: @MsLipGloss: the father of the kids I nannied for when I lived in NY was/is a patent attorney! He really likes it. My husband was in grad school at the time (we were dating), and the dad offered my husband a position at his firm if he decided to go to law school instead- in addition to a nice cushy starting salary. He had his undergrad in mathematics and I suppose that is helpful as a patent attorney?? Unfortunately, the prospect did not excite my husband and he was afraid patent law would be too boring..

I took Theatre and I'm happy with that choice. I had so much fun in college! I ended up doing graphic design, which I am mostly self-taught in.

I wish I would have stuck with Nursing, I was about a year in before switching to Marketing. I would love to be a nurse right now.

I am happy with what I choose and where I am now, but had I gone for an engineering degree, my life would be in a totally different place!

Something in the Science field that would allow me to be pediatrician! My parents wouldn't allow me to be a doctor. Who woulda thunk Asian parents saying no to their kid being a doctor!

I wish I had chosen a major that was less nebulous. I majored in communications with a minor in art. Going into the job market I went into meant I kind of had to take what I could get. I almost majored in teaching, which would have been much more focused as far as career but I also don't like the direction teaching has taken (aka, test moderating) so I wish I had considered something like nursing. It would be nice in this type of job market to have a very clear path from graduation to job.

I went to a liberal arts college, so many job-specific majors weren't available. That said I would have possibly done Art History instead. I think what would have changed is what I did for GRAD school. I think I would have not gone to law school and studied something else.

Maybe stuck with my bio major and not changed to history at the last minute (2nd sem of Jr year - who does this)? didn't matter anyway.

I wish I majored in business... my school did not offer it so I majored in History with a minor in studio art.

I'm very happy with my Computer Science degree!!!
But I originally wanted to major in English - I wanted to be an author!

I majored in Computer Information Systems (BS) and Computer Science (MS). I wish I had done kinesiology and just taught gymnastics

If i could go back and do anything, I think I would want to do anesthesiology. There's no program that allows it without a bachelors and experience in nursing, though. And I don't have any desire to be an actual nurse.

Some kind of language that would have gotten me snatched up by the CIA!

@bushelandapeck: I have my BSW and MSW and wish that I had done nursing. There are so many admin nurses that do about the same thing that are more valued and make lots more money.

I'm pretty happy with what I majored in--English lit and literature, minor in linquistics. After graduating, I did my teacher certification and then got my graduate degree in Library Science, which was the best move I ever made, in terms of job happiness.

@babynumber1: what area of SW are you in now? I work for one of the children's hospitals and feel like it's probably the best paying option, aside from private practice.

I also have Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social work (@bushelandapeck and @babynumber 1 !)and I'm pretty happy with that - I've stayed in those areas with my career. I do wish that I could have double majored in business, though, it would have opened up a lot of doors for me career wise. I dream about going to law school (and staying in human services after) but know that realistically that will probably never happen.

@bushelandapeck: @Rocker2014: I work in a continuing care retirement community in the nursing home. Its a great job, I just wish it paid a little more. I do love my job and my little old people! I would have a difficult time working with children, especially now that I have one.

@Mrs. Pen: I am fascinated by patent law . . . however, I have the unique perspective of knowing that it's (law) ALL boring! So, I guess you just have to choose your *boring*!
