Bee and I were talking about this the other day... she had a pretty significant list! I don't think I've fallen asleep during a movie before... at least in the theaters.
What movies have you fallen asleep to in the theaters?

Inception, I fell asleep, woke up and still had time to watch another hour of the movie. That is a long movie! (:
Also, Kick Ass. I was just kind of bored I was also on a date, oops (:

It's Complicated, which ended up being the last time I picked a movie.
Thor and some other stuff Mr. Lime picked.

That I can remember most recently, the Hobbit, and Tree of Life--omg that movie was so long and terrible!
grapefruit / 4817 posts
@nana87: Tree of life here, too! And I tried to watch it at home twice and still could not stay awake.

All movies I saw while pregnant? So definitely Great Gatsby, Zero Dark Thirty, maybe with the exception of Django Unchained? But maybe not! I think I snoozed through all of them, and some others... oh wait, I stayed awake for a documentary about Ina May Gaskin and the farm. I was riveted/terrified (lots and lots of filmed births!).

Sherlock Holmes. We went around 11pm after a busy day. I couldn't wait for it to end so I could get home and get to sleep.
persimmon / 1230 posts
Jurassic Park! I was in middle school and I guess just exhausted when I went to see it.
watermelon / 14206 posts
The Matrix 3. My ex husband dragged me to see it, even though I had previous fallen asleep while watching the first two movies at home.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@mrbee: Tron!! It was so dark and boring....
And Man of Steel, but I couldn't help it, that was our first 'date' after LO was born and I was so exhausted!
coconut / 8681 posts
Quite a few! The recent ones that I can remember are Iron Man 2 and Hunger Games. I was so tired!
honeydew / 7235 posts
@Leialou: omg! I love that movie - haha.
@cmomma17: I like tron but always end up falling asleep - it's one of Dhs fave movies.
I fell asleep at The Artist.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Dandelion: I didn't even know there was a Matrix 2, let alone a 3!
I fell asleep during The Hunt for Red October. I think it's a good movie, but something about the setting just knocked me out.

Fellowship of the Ring, Man of Steel, probably a lot more - I fall asleep during movies all the time.

There have been so many!
Last one was the last movie I saw I think. The last Batman. But I went into it saying that this was going to be my nap time. We were away from the kids and I just wanted to sleep but DH wanted to see a movie!
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
What Dreams May Come, Batman 4, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Good Night Good Luck.
Yes I didn't not enjoy those movies, but I was also probably exhausted.

I went to 3 or 4 movies in the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings series and slept through all of them. All that fantasy stuff is really tough for me to follow or get into.

The unbearable lightness of being. That movie was awful! It was like everyone was dead and the movie was still going! And I'm with @Mrs. Bee: on Pirates of the Carribean II. In my defense, I was post-call, so probably not a great time to see a movie!

I fall asleep every time we go to a theater. Needless to say we don't waste the money anymore haha.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
There are far too many to list! I would say I fall asleep during a movie, in a theater 95% of the time! I've also fallen asleep during 2 cirque de soleil shows and 2 comedy shows....I get comfy and I'm out!
kiwi / 659 posts
Umm... none? We don't really go to the movies, though. We'd rather wait til they're released and watch at home. Falling asleep there is a different story.... pretty much happens with all movies at home after dark lol
papaya / 10343 posts
The second LOTR movie (I was dragged there against my will, hadn't seen the first, didn't really want to see the second, so I wasn't really trying that hard to stay awake).
Also The Big Lebowski. But to be fair on that one, it was a special showing at midnight at a local theater and my friends and I all pre gamed for hours before and wore PJs and robes. So by the time I got there it was late and I was tired, a little drunk, and very cozy.

I nod off a lot, being in the dark it takes me no time to fall asleep! But I specifically remember falling asleep through most of Tron.

@Mae: those are some great movies to have fallen asleep to!!!

I don't usually fall asleep in the theatre, but every time We watch a movie at home I fall asleep. I always make sure we start the movie early too, like by 8, but it's inevitable that I fall asleep.
kiwi / 550 posts
The second LOTR. It's so long.
The Artist. It's a silent movie and I was really tired. The music just lulled me right to sleep. The 2 beers at dinner didn't help any.
pomelo / 5866 posts
None. I absolutely love movies and I want to get my money’s worth! I usually fall asleep at home during DH 's action movies.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
I don't like going to the movies, so whenever we do go I make the most of it! But I cannot fall asleep unless it's dark and quiet so I don't think I'd ever be able to fall asleep at the movies. I can't even fall asleep in front of the TV!
Although for some reason I fall asleep on the couch watching playoff games.. I've done it with football, basketball, and baseball. I think my brain shuts off due to the stress.

The only one I have is a midnight showing of "The Princess Diaries 2". I had already seen it and was just waiting for my much older boyfriend at the time to get out of the bar and hang out with me and my friend (I was underage). DH fell asleep during "The Ring 2" a few weeks after we started dating. It was the night I almost told him I loved him because I found it so endearing that even though he was EXHAUSTED he still tried to take me on a date.
persimmon / 1233 posts
Me, Myself and Irene. It was terrible.
Also, even worse, I fell asleep during two Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas. In my defense, we had partied at night and spent the day at the pool and the theaters were so dark and the music so soothing!
pomelo / 5257 posts
One of the new Star Wars movies, though in my defense my H wanted to see the midnight showing lol. Also one of the Bourne movies but that was more self-preservation. The jerky camera movements were making me so nauseous I had to close my eyes!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I've never fallen asleep in a movie theater before!
But if I was going to, it would've been to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy! Talk about a SLOOOOOOW movie!!!
apricot / 303 posts
Lincoln. 39 weeks pregnant + evening showing + speech after speech after speech after speech... It was inevitable.
