I always thought I would name my daughter Samantha. But then DH told me he dated one...out!

I loved very.... "elaborate" names. Evangeline, Genevieve, Gabriella, etc. I still thinks names like that are pretty, I just prefer something simpler now.

I always loved the name Morgan, but it's become too common now.

@regberadaisy: I LOVED Samantha as a kid. I wanted to be Samantha and for everyone to call me Sam!!

@mediagirl: I wanted to be called Elle, pronounced like "L". I went to summer camp and introduced myself as Elle..

...it was because of Legally Blonde.

Cordelia. Mostly because that's what Anne Shirley wanted her own name to be and I just loved Anne of Green Gables.

@mediagirl: that's too funny! Samantha (calling her Sam) is currently our first choice for a girl...it's a family name.

@MrsTiz: talk about dying: In 2001, you were going to summer camp. I was working at my second job out of college...

@MrsTiz: teehee, Elle could be a nn for my name. I tried like hell to make it happen in HS for the same reason. Now I'm kinda glad it never stuck.

I wanted to name a daughter Sofia or Bella forever! But sadly Sofia is too popular, and stupid Twilight ruined Bella. Sigh.

Lacey... all of the little story books I wrote in elementary school have a main character named Lacey LOL So early 90s

@mediagirl: Well it wouldn't have been in 2001 because I would have been too young, it was probably more Legally Blonde 2 timeframe (2003) where I would have been 10/11 hahaha I'm sure that doesn't help, does it?

Another vote for Samantha! Ha! I also loved Lila due to Sweet Valley High. We ended up with a cat named Samantha and years later I named my dog Lila because I still loved the name!

I have no idea why-- maybe the 50's song?-- but I was obsessed with the name Sherry. All my favorite dolls were named Sherry. I don't really like it any more and it's definitely not in the running now.

Our last name began with W and we all had a complex about being at the end of alphabetical order, so my little sister was obsessed with the name Aaron Amacabees. To the point that I STILL feel like I couldn't use the name Aaron because of her, and this was when she was like, 5.

@grizz: I never knew SVH but Lila was my favorite name, too. And I loved Maia.

I always thought I'd have a boy and name him my last name (a common boys name) but DH ditched his last name when we got married and took mine. So that didn't work out, haha

I swore up and down that I was going to have a daughter named Rose. Better yet, Rose Laura after Little House On The Prairie. I had different names picked out, but Rose stands out as being a very top favorite for a long time. Now it's a bit plain for me, but I must still like something about it since the name Rosalie is one of our top two contenders for a girl name this time.

@LizSmith: Lol, fundy background here too, which is why I can't tolerate any boys names with the "iah" sound- Jeremiah, Obediah, Josiah, lol, you get the picture. Most other biblical names are still ok, but rather boring in my book. Oh wait, I have a kid named Gabriel, so, um, yeah.

Chloe, Scarlett, Morgan, Marilyn, Angela. I never picked out any boy's names as I only wanted a girl back then!

The two that stuck long enough for me to remember are Claudia and Brandon. Because of Party of 5 and 90210 LOL

Jane and Justin. I had an imaginary friend named Jane. And I named my fake cabage patch kid Justin Thomas and called him JT. Jane I still like, but I knew a crazy girl named that and it kind of tainted it. And Justin I am just eh about. But I still think JT is cute and we considered Thomas for LO.

I loved the name Brittney.

Chelsea & Dustin. I still like them, but not nearly as much.
