In grade school there were three girls in my grade named Melanie, two Cheryls, and three Scotts.
Any multiple names in your classes when you were a kid?

I think Jennifer was the most popular name around me by far.

I went to school with a lot of Emily's, Sarah's, and Katie's. I also worked at the University ID office, and came across Caitlin's one year and Alexander's/Alexandra's another year. There were so many versions of Alex that it felt like 25% of the incoming class were Alex's.

I was one of three Ashleys in my grade in elementary school. There were also several Jessicas and Jennifers. And he had SO MANY Matts. Even now in our close friend group we have three Matts.

Jennifer and Carrie/Carey. Mike and Jamie/Jamey (for boy or girl).
It's funny, looking at the list that has already been made, you can tell the age of people by knowing the names that were popular in their class.

@mediagirl: haha i know. i mean, who names their kids jennifer now. that was definitely popular in the 70s.

Sarah was by far the most popular girl name. I definitely knew at least 20 Sarah's and all went to my school and were in my grade. Matt, Patt and Pete were also very popular. Now DH has 3 of each in his close inner circle and it drives me bonkers when he talks about one of them and doesn't say " Matt H." or "Pete J.".

Wow, lots of Jennifer's! My name is Jennifer, but there weren't many in my grade (only 1 more). I think that's because I'm 22 and most Jennifer's are around 30. Anyone else notice that?

I grew up with a lot of kids named Matt, Michael, Jennifer, and Heather.

@lilteacherbee- that hurts. I am "around" 30, so you're right. But it still hurts :oP I suppose I should just come to terms with the fact that I'm fastly approaching 30.

I'm early 20s and said Jennifer too though! I think it also has to do with where you grew up.
