Other than the standard Itsy Bitsy Spider, Ba Ba Black Sheep, Mary Had a Little Lamb....what normal songs do you like to sing to your kids? I always have The Beatles in my head so I sing a lot of Hey Jude and In My Life. And then I get requests for Mary Had a Little Lamb.

we basically never listen to kid music with our 16mo. we did a semester of Music Together and he wasn't a fan. his favorite song is a-punk by vampire weekend - he gets up and dances anytime it comes on pandora. it's one of the only songs I've ever purchased on itunes, haha! and, when he was really little (like, when I was on mat leave), my favorite song to sing to him was live & let die by paul mccartney & wings.

From 3-5 months the only way to get my son to sleep was to sing him the theme song from The Monkees.

We listen to/sing the Frozen soundtrack a lot. Like, every car ride. Other than that, she is fond of "Soft Kitty" from TBBT. I sing it to her when I'm trying to get her sleepy for naps and it tends to work.

DH has been singing a lot of Stone Temple Pilots. DS seems to like it.

My dad's lullaby for me was "Norwegian Wood", so I sing that a lot, plus a good bit of James Taylor ("You Can Close Your Eyes" is a favorite).
If I have to comfort LO for a long time, I turn to show tunes, as I know lots of lyrics. Might as well use Rent, Spring Awakening, and Book of Mormon before she's old enough to understand the profanity.
