Physical, mental, social, anything! JUST ONE! I actually have a list of four I desperately want dd to be when she grows up, but I'm just picking the most important to me for this.
I hope my dd is kind.

Man. Picking one is really hard.
I hope he has a strong/good moral compass.
LOL - I think I covered many attributes in that one.

compassion.
by which I mean- I hope she has a sense that, as Ani Difranco put it "the world owes us nothing, and we owe each other the world."

Man....
I can't choose just one! I guess the ultimate importance to me is to be God fearing.
When I say "fearing", I hope that doesn't get taken the wrong way. By fearing, I mean he will not harm God's people or animals, will not cheat anyone, will love all humanity, will feel thankful for his blessings and hopeful in his times of need.

Respect. For elders, for animals, for those less fortunate, for the environment, for peers, etc.

Patience?
My husband and I are both short-tempered and I hope that she finds the patience that we've lose along the way. Being impatient leads to getting annoyed with others, feeling superior, etc. So I hope she has patience!

Hmm... I don't know that this is necessarily more important than all the others, I want her to be strong.

It's a toss up between patience and kindness....but I choose kindness! We've had so much good luck and good karma over the years from being kind to others. People have definitely paid it forward in my life and I will do the same!
@HabesBabe: so true, DH is the most patient person I know. I am more patient now since I have met him.

Resilient. The ability to pick yourself back up and keep going is so critical for work, relationships, happiness and it took me a long time to learn.

@Purpledaisy: @Rainbow Sprinkles: ok, I'm glad you guys said these qualities bc I felt kind of bad that the first thing that popped into my head wasn't kindness/empathy. I really want my LO to be super confident and never be paralyzed by fear. So many kids and young adults are afraid to do and say what they really think or ask questions bc they think they'll look stupid. I want her to speak up and take action and never be afraid of looking or sounding stupid.

I waffle between kind and compassionate, they are both so important.

I was going to say either kind, loving, or compassionate, but if happiness is a quality, then I'd have to pick that.

I want her to be independent, to be her own woman, and carve her own path out in life. I want her to make her own happiness and not rely on a man for it

Secure would be a good one, but kindness and compassion are sill my first choice.
