I live near DC, so there is a lot to do. Museums, govt buildings, national harbor, etc...

Let's see..in my exact town we have a space museum that's pretty big. 10 minutes away we have an Amish community that draws a lot of spectators. If we widen the area we're talking about then we have the world's largest ball of twine, Truck hinge (featured recently on sister wives), Fred Phelps' compound (we're not exactly proud of this here in KS), Brown v Board of Education, and a whole bunch of wheat fields.

my town turns into a tourist resort in the summer - we have a boardwalk, rides, blah blah blah (it's realllly quiet now in the winter, though) - and my town is also a dry town, so a lot of religious retreats occur here throughout the year (the whole town was originally founded as a christian retreat location)

and we're about an hour outside of philly, so we have the liberty bell, congress hall, betsy ross' house, and all that jazz there
