DH said some of my favorite names are too long, too ambiguous, old sounding, too trendy, too boring or they remind him of people he does not like...usually people from junior high or high school!

I got a lot of "I knew a X and hated him/her!" His other reasons included "too old sounding" or just a plain wrinkled nose. I guess he felt those required no explanation? lol! He just said, "because I just don't."

My names were always vetoed because my DH associated them with someone from his past!

two of my favorite boy names were max and milo, and he said they both sound like animal names. haha. luckily those were the only names we disagreed on though!

Ditto Hilsy... He just didn't like them.
We only ever disagreed on boy names... We had a bunch of "meh" boy names, while we totally agreed on girl names easily. We finally found a boy name we both really liked eventually... I couldn't believe it, but turned out we had another girl anyhow though.

@hilsy85: Same here! We didn't really give each other too many specifics on why names just didn't work for us.

My DH tells me a lot of my choices are 'trailer trash', lol! But really, he should hear his own ideas : ) Choosing a name has been very hard!

He doesn't like names that sound like a last name. I really really wanted to use Thatcher, and he said all he could think about was A Knight's Tale. He's weird.

He said I picked a stripper's name. I still have no idea what he's talking about. It's like not the name was "Candy" or something along those lines.

Yeah. He didn't like Norah because it rhymes with his last name and he said Elliot is a "hipster" name.
