So, DH's best friend is getting married this weekend. It's a backyard wedding, but it's formal wedding attire, and possibly "old Hollywood" theme. I have no idea what to wear!
What would you wear?

@jessiejo17: Exactly what I was thinking. You can't go wrong with a black dress and some pretty jewelry. Shoes might be tough-- formal = heels to me, but backyard= wedges or flats. Maybe bring flats with you just in case but wear the heels.

@Foodnerd81: Agreed shoes are hard for a backyard wedding, I woudl suggest a peeptoe with a thicker heel or a cute formal wedge, I've seen some out lately!

I second (or is third and fourth now) the black dress with gorgeous jewelry with wedges since the backyard will either be grassy or rocky.

Thank you ladies! I was afraid that a little black dress wouldn't fit in but after seeing your responses, I went out and got one. Great idea about the wedges - I don't want my heels sinking in the grass!
