I just realized our "pup" is considered a senior. 
She's a large breed pit bull mix and just turned 7 back in June.
I guess we should start buying her food geared for seniors??

I didn't vote because we have 2 dogs. One is an adult--he's 5. our other is 1--she still acts like a puppy but maybe she's a young adult now? they're shelties and have really long life expectancies--my in-laws last 2 shelties each lived to be about 16

She's a senior. She's a chihuahua mix and she's 13. I hate thinking about it.

She's an adult but is soon to be a senior
We have a larger mix-breed pit bull and she will be 6 in a couple weeks.
Wahh, I want her to live forever.

I voted puppy because she acts like a puppy, though at 2 she's more of a "young adult" with "young" being the key word

@Foodnerd81: she's really been having some back hip issues, but we started giving her Cosequin and it seems to help. Other than that, she's in good health. She sleeps a lot, but she has all of her teeth still, eats just fine, and still loves people.

I would say both are adults. 7 year old beagle and 5 year old malamute x. Each year i think about them getting older

My greyhound is 9 and a senior... we looked up the age conversion chart the other day and it says she's about 61. It made us so sad!!

Our min pin just hit seniors age last year.. but he is the George Clooney of dogs - he just gets better looking with age.

He's almost 6 but he's a small breed (pug) and his life expectancy is 12-15, so he's middle-aged (which still makes me sad! )

All of mine are seniors Two of the three have had their extensive "senior wellness checks," poor babies! Only one shows real issues though.

@JennyLayneAZ: Aw my old guy has some hip issues already-- probably arthritis, but his hips and back legs shake a lot like he is shimmying. We give him Cosaquin too (um when I remember) but the vet isn't concerned if it isn't bothering him. He's always been lazy and slept a lot And the vet complimented me on his teeth last year (for a dog "his age") which made me laugh since we brushed his teeth all of once.

My Gabby girl is 5. She's a pure breed American bulldog so her life expectancy is only about 10 years. I joke that she's my soul mate, I've had her since college when I lived in my first apartment by myself. I can't imagine my life without her

@regberadaisy: our big guy is a senior this year toooooooo *sob*. When we got our annual "Time for your vet checkup" letter in the mail they included some info on him being a 'senior' dog. Our little lady is a few years younger than him so she's not an oldie yet.

My bulldog is 3...he has really calmed down in the past year and is now such a calm, well behaved dog. He can still play and run, but also will sleep for hours and hours. I wish he could stay in this stage forever!

@Foodnerd81: haha we've never brushed her teeth! She used to chew on raw hides, but only will if another dog is around now. But I feed her a mix of dry and wet food (1/2 cup dry w/ 1/3 can of wet - twice a day) so she still has to actually chew.

We have cats but I would say they are young or kitten. One just turned 1 and one is about to turn 1.
