If you had to choose just one store to furnish your house from top to bottom, what would it be? Bonus points for pictures!

Way out of our price range, but assuming a fairy could wave her magic wand...definitely Restoration Hardware! Here are some pictures from their children's collection.

If money were no object....Room and Board probably. But they are a bit boring, so I would need some fanciful pops of décor from a place like Jonathan Adler or Horchow or something.

@Skadi: Same -- Restoration Hardware... in dream world, lol. There's a huge one near us and DH and I like to go in just to look at stuff. We do have a beautiful duvet cover from there, but that's about it so far, haha.

Maybe west elm, I feel like they're a good mix of modern and traditional/comfy.
nectarine / 2272 posts
Probably Crate and Barrel and West Elm. That's where most of our stuff is from. Our style is modern but not like cb2/ikea level.
honeydew / 7091 posts
My personal style is totally Anthropologie.
My combined style with DH is more Restoration Hardware/Farmhouse style
My Anthro dreams
grapefruit / 4066 posts
pottery barn's coastal decor. whites/creams with pops of aqau/turqoise...rustic/weathered wood.
eggplant / 11716 posts
@swurlygurl: I love Anthropologie, too...but my DH is totally not on board. His style is so......spare and manly. compromises, compromises.

Pottery Barn.
But I rarely buy things from there because their customer service is *awful.*

Gosh, a mix of places...I'd say I like Pottery Barn's overall look, with a bit of a French Country influence.

Ideally: West Elm
What it actually looks like: 70s junkyard Kmart (pic not my actual living room!)

Ideally: restoration hardware, west elm, a little anthro mixed in
Reality: IKEA & Homegoods!

Mixture of places - Restoration Hardware, Arhaus, Ethan Allen, Pottery Barn. Specifically, their more traditional styles. In reality, I try to get the occasional treat from those stores and mostly furnish my home with family "heirlooms" (hand-me-downs) and stuff I like from Home Goods

@sheskrafty: Hahaha, oh my goodness, that's totally our living room! (Not *exactly* but same idea of mismatched used old furniture!)
@Anagram: Dang husbands!
Sometimes I'm a little bummed I never got to live by myself and decorate my own space. I probably would have spent WAY too much money though

@swurlygurl: I actually did live alone for a long time and yup...spent way too much money on my furniture. And then we moved cross country and now I don't have any of it. :sad face:.
Anyway, if my husband decorated our living room, we'd have those giant puffy leather recliners connected by cupholders or something hideous like that.

West Elm with a little Restoration Hardware.
I like cozy modern, DH likes a little farmhouse, so we have a very careful mix. I decorate with some wood to make him feel at home, but I like blacks/grays/creams with pops of color.
honeydew / 7916 posts
I like Serena and Lily...in reality it's more a strange mix of Horchow, Design Within Reach, West Elm, and Serena and Lily.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Another West Elm / Crate and Barrel lover here. They just opened up a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams store near our house and we really like their stuff!
pomegranate / 3314 posts
If money is no object, probably Design Within Reach with West Elm.

Roots Canada & Eddie Bauer.
Oops, I thought we were talking clothing! I like Crate & Barrel, but I can't think of any store that perfectly expresses my style.

Restoration Hardware
...reality: target and ikea, maybe with a few pieces from Macy's and Costco if we're feeling spendy haha
pineapple / 12802 posts
Grandma's Garage? We have a load of hand me downs. HAH.
Ideally, crate and barrel. I haven't ever heard of West Elm before, but DAMN I love the website so much!
honeydew / 7444 posts
Ideally, Room and Board or DWR (@lamariniere: i hear you!)
But right now, probably a mix of Crate and Barrel and IKEA since we don't have CB2 and West Elm in my city.

Most of our furniture/lighting is from Restoration Hardware. The kids' bedroom furniture we bought from Land of Nod.

I would love to furnish our home with Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn.
persimmon / 1313 posts
Definitely West Elm and some Restoration Hardware like @Sunshine1810:

@Freckles: Same!
Ideally DWR. (What a joke. It is so not within reach.)
Actual -- Lots of Ikea with a little CB2 and West Elm thrown in.

I like a mix of Crate & Barrel, CB2 and Restoration Hardware. I also like a little West Elm lighting thrown in.
