What style of diaper bag works best for you? Backpack? Messenger? Shoulder bag?
I'm just starting to look at bags. I am not looking to spend a lot. I'll be SAH when LO arrives so the diaper bag will be mostly for trips to the store, library, church, granny's house, etc.

I have a book bag and love it. I've used a few different ones in the past and bought the ergo one on a whim from TJ Maxx. Perfect for my two kids.

I am intersted in looking at more of a tote style or backpack style. The bag style always falls off my shoulder when I bend down to pick up LO (or anything else)>

I use a shoulder bag and it doubles as a purse for me. It's the skip hop versi. I actually had a lady compliment me on yesterday. She couldn't believe it was a diaper bag!

I think we're getting this one-it's a tote that can be worn cross-body, too. And DH likes it, so that's a bonus.

@jhd: thanks! I've been agonizing over diaper bags for what seems like months, but DH sold me on this one. It doesn't really keep its structure, but I think it will do the trick nicely. I'm also getting a new cross body purse (squee!), so I think it should be relatively easy to throw this in the bottom of the stroller, if I need both.

I've tried 4 different bags and so far my favorite is a plain old back pack. It's so much easier now that I'm chasing a toddler and I'm sure it will be great once LO 2 get here in a couple months.

Shoulder strap with an adjustable strap so I can wear it as a purse or as a crossbody bag, and can also be hung on my stroller.
@LemonLong: I have the Skip Hop Versa also, and I too get compliments all the time.

I rarely "wear" my diaper bag - it's always neatly stored in the basket of my stroller. Both my PPB Boxy and KS Stevie fit perfectly, but my main requirement is that they fit the basket and have a zipper closure. I returned one that didn't have a zipper closure. It was such a PITA.
