Its close to positive, but isn't quite yet. The line will get as dark or darker than the control line when it is truly positive. Keep testing - it looks like it will be positive soon!
Its possible that you're just having a wonky cycle - any number of things can delay ovulation by a few days. 29-32 days is perfectly normal - I think anything from 25-35 days is considered "average" (What do I know, though....I have 70+ day cycles).

If you want to make your life easy in the future, you may want to get the Clear Blue Easy Digital OPKs. They give you a Smiley face if you're ovulating. I could not handle the guesswork involved with the cheapies! Good luck!

@chibee: LOL. It was on the boards over on WB, but I don't know how common knowledge it really is.
When I got my first OPK+, it rose slowly for over 2 weeks in intensity, but it was obvious when it was +, it was darker than the control line. I usually have long cycles though.

@chibee: The test line should be as dark or darker than the control line to be positive. With that being said, I never really got a true positive. Maybe I just didn't test at the right time of day who knows. But I got a line similar to yours and the Clearblue digital OPK gave me a smiley face. I got pregnant that cycle so obviously I did in fact ovulate.

They both looked positive to me! But I've never seen one in real life (I'm not at that stage, yet) so don't take my word for it. Just get BDing, I'd say!

Personally, with those wonky cycle numbers,I'd go out and buy a pregnancy test, but it is possible that you ovulated late ESP since you aren't charting. If you don't want to take a hpt (home pregnancy test) yet, it won't hurt to wait and see if you get your period.

If you ovulated on cd 24 or 25, you will probably get your period anytime in the next 10-14 days. 10-11 days is a short luteal phase but the occasional short cycle doesn't necessarily mean you have a defect.

Hope this helps! Ttc can definitely be confusing. If you DO think you have a luteal phase defect, charting will definitely help you ID the problem, and you could even take your charts to your dr to target a plan to fix it. I highly recommend "take charge of your fertility."

The first time I was pregnant I thought I was just ovulating late (like CD 40) and did an OPK and got a positive....and then on a Weddingbee reader's suggestion took a pregnancy test and it was positive! So, yes, a positive OPK could mean you are pregnant because HCG (pregnancy hormone) is similar in composition to LH hormone (ovulation hormone). But preg tests test only for HCG so if the pregnancy test is positive, you're pregnant!

FWIW, I say both of your photos are positive.

@chibee: stress can cause you to ovulate later than usual - if this is your first cycle TTC I'd say that's stressful! I hope your LP is a normal length, but if it isn't, I've heard it's one of the easiest fertility problems to treat.
