I need to take off the week of Thanksgiving to go see my parents. But daycare is closed the week of christmas so I may need to take that off too. And then we want to do a spring vacation which would be another week off. Is that too much?

If you have it, take it! We don't have Thanksgiving here, but school is closed for 2 weeks over the holidays. I WAH, so I'm flexible. We may or may not try to go somewhere during part of that time since I won't be able to work anyways.

If you have it, I don't see why not!
I'm taking half day off before thanksgiving to get us packed up for our road trip. We get thanksgiving and day after off. Visiting my family.
Then just a half day on Christmas Eve, since it's half work day. We stay local for Christmas and daycare is open.

I am planning to take the week of Christmas and the week of new years off. I get thanksgiving and black Friday off.
We will also take a week in spring time for a family vacation.
I say, like others, if you have it use it!

I'll get a half day the day before Thanksgiving and the day after off (and the day itself, of course). Same with Christmas. But I'm due on Christmas Eve, so that month is pretty much up in the air
(Then I take a week off in July for a family beach vacation).

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: @regberadaisy: Thanks! Right now I have about 330 hours of Annual Leave plus 46 hours sick leave. At the end of December I get my annual "drop" of leave again which is substantial. But what I have will roll forward. If I do another maternity leave, I will need to save it up!

Sounds like you have plenty of vacation to use!
I've requested Thanksgiving and Christmas off at the hospital, so I have those. I'm also requesting a Mon-Wedn mid December to visit my parents for the holidays. And that's really it. I'm trying to keep myself available as much as possible so I can get my healthcare hours in as quickly as I can. I'm dropping to part time at my engineering job, and we get 10 days off for the holidays, anyways, so i have a lot of free time coming my way...kind of.

Our nanny is taking the Wed before Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas off, so I am taking the Thanksgiving and DH is taking the Christmas time.
My company forces non-project personnel to take off the week between Christmas and New Year off, so I'm taking 3 days off that week to get ready for LO2's arrival in Jan.

Work usually lets us leave early the day before Thanksgiving, but I'll be taking the day after Thanksgiving off. The day before Christmas, the markets are closed early so I'll take a half day PTO to get the entire day off or just work from home to save some PTO time.
If you have the time off available, I say use it girl! You've earned it!!

Probably just a few days around Christmas since we are going on vacation in January.
